If reports in the media are anything to go by then the Merseysiders will move closer to agreeing the signing of a new left back today.
According to the Times, Hull City defender, Andrew Robertson is set to undergo a medical at Liverpool today after the Reds and the Tigers agreed a fee worth 10 million pounds for his transfer.
In the last campaign, Jurgen Klopp opted to bench Spanish international Alberto Moreno and preferred James Milner, a natural midfiedler, to start in the left back position. Will that change after the arrival of Robertson?
Milner was consistently good in the left back position for the Merseysiders last season. On the other hand, Robertson was not really effective for a team that got relegated from the top flight last season.
The 23-year-old Scottish international played 39 games in all competitions for Hull in the last campaign, scored one goal and provided three assists.
In your opinion, is Andrew good enough to replace Milner and become Klopp’s first choice left back?

The Scottish international has been linked with a move to Anfield for quite some time and as per the latest reports, Klopp is expected to make Andrew his third signing of the summer (via Daily Mail).
Liverpool were even linked with Robertson last year (Mirror) but the move did not happen. Things could be different this time around.
According to Sky Sports, Liverpool have agreed a price worth 10 million pounds ($13million) to secure the signing of the former Dundee United defender.
The 23-year-old full back featured in 33 Premier League games for the Tigers last season, scored 1 goal and provided 2 assists. Not to forget, Hull City were relegated from the top flight after a dismal campaign.
Andrew made his senior national debut back in 2014 and so far, he has played 15 times for Scotland and scored 1 goal.
In your opinion, is he good enough to start for the Merseysiders next season? In my opinion, if Andew joins, he will probably replace Alberto Moreno to warm the bench for Liverpool because he is just not good enough.

The England international did well in an unusual role but he is naturally a center midfielder and must play in his preferred position next season.
Klopp needs to sign a natural left back and if reports in the media are anything to go by then the Reds are close to signing one this summer.
Also Read: Liverpool can Agree Signing for £62million Before this Date
Few days back, Daily Mail reported that Liverpool are closing in on a deal to sign Hull City left back Andrew Robertson in a deal worth 8 million pounds.
Now, as per an update provided by BBC Radio Humberside morning show presenter David Burns, the 23-year-old defender has left the Tigers’ training camp in Portugal. We can expect that his deal to join Liverpool is now edging closer.
Robertson is a versatile talent, who can effectively play as a left midfielder as well. Last season, he scored one goal and provided three assists in 39 appearances for Hull City.
In all honesty, Liverpool need a proven quality LB to strengthen the position and Andrew is by no means a top quality star. Therefore, it will not be shocking to see him warm the bench if he joins the Merseysiders.
In your opinion, should Klopp really use Milner in the left back position for another season?

If reports in the media are anything to go by then the German manager is ready to splash the cash and sign several players to reinforce his team in the summer transfer window.
According to an exclusive report covered by the Independent, Klopp is ready to sign five players in the form of Virgil van Dijk, Ryan Sessegnon, Timo Werner, Naby Keita and Andrew Robertson. The mentioned players have a combined worth of around €155million.
The British source claims that Klopp is confident of signing two players in the form of Ryan (£15million – €18million) and Andrew (£8million – €9million – Daily Mail) to solve the left back dilemma at Anfield. It will be intriguing to see who will replace Milner, a natural midfielder, in that position next season.
Werner and Kieta have been in fantastic form for Leipzig this season and Independent have claimed that Klopp is keen on hiring their services. Timo has netted 21 goals and provided 7 assists in 31 league games for the Bundesliga side.
Liverpool lack quality and depth in their strike-force and Werner would be a quality signing. Back in March, it was reported (ESPN via Bild) that the German side will demand over €40million to let their star forward leave.
Keita is a versatile midfielder, who has directly contributed in 16 goals (8 goals and 8 assists) in 30 league games this season. His current deal with Leipzig will expire in 2020 and he is rated around €30million (TMW).
Last but not the least, Southampton’s Virgil van Dijk is a wanted man in the Premier League. Independent claim that the £50million rated (€58million – Telegraph) is Liverpool’s top defensive target but Chelsea are favorites to secure his signature.
Leipzig will be playing CL football next season however, it must be noted that none of the above mentioned players took part in the Champions League this season. Will they be able to adequately improve the Liverpool squad to compete in the competition next season?
The Reds are on the verge of qualifying for the Champions League and after achieving that goal, they must hire the services of top stars to reinforce their team for next season.
According to Mirror, Liverpool have clinched the deal to sign Andrew Robertson from Hull City, who were relegated to the Championship after getting hammered by Crystal Palace at the weekend.
Manager Jurgen Klopp converted James Milner into a fullback and effectively used him in the LB position this season. The former Man City man has been solid at the back but his crossing ability is average.
The former Borussia Dortmund boss has been looking to sign a natural left back to solve the conundrum for a long time and as per the provided Mirror link, the German boss has won the race to sign the 23-year-old star. The Reds are expected to announce his capture when the transfer window opens.
Mirror have not mentioned any fee that Liverpool may have agreed with Hull City but there were reports last month (Daily Mail) which suggested that the Merseysiders are looking to agree a deal worth 8 million pounds for the Scottish defender.
Liverpool need a proven quality left back, who could replace Milner in the starting XI but is the former Dundee player good enough?
Andrew has so far featured in 38 games in all competitions for the Tigers this season, scored one goal and provided three assists. Not to forget, Hull have conceded 73 goals in 37 league games this season and Robertson has featured in 32 of them.
James Milner has done brilliantly well in the LB position this season but the Reds have at times missed his creativity in the center of the park, especially when Lallana and Henderson have been out.
If the latest reports are anything to go by then Liverpool are ready to finally solve the dilemma by signing Hull City star Andrew Robertson.
Back in December 2016, we covered a report (via Daily Star) claiming that the Klopp wants to sign the 23-year-old defender in the winter window. However, he eventualy stayed with the Tigers.
Now, according to Daily Mail, Liverpool are closing in on finally signing him this summer in a deal worth 8 million pounds. His current contract with Hull City will expire in 2018.
Robertson can also be deployed on the left hand side of the midfield if needed. In the current campaign, the Scottish international has featured in 34 games for the Premier League side, scored one goal and provided three assists.
The Tigers are currently 17th in the table, only 2 points above the relegation zone and have conceded 67 goals this season. As per the provided Daily Mail link, Liverpool are also interested in signing Real Betis star Riza Durmisi.
The young right back suffered a concussion after colliding with compatriot Marcos Alonso at Stamford Bridge and had to leave the field immediately.
According to the latest update (The Sun), the 21-year-old defender has been declared fit to feature against Hull City after his MRI Scan.
His fitness is a major boost for Arsene Wenger who clearly lacks a quality player to replace the Spaniard in the starting XI. This season, in 17 league starts, the former Barca defender has provided 2 assists.
As per the provided Sun link, he will be joining for training today and should be able to play versus the Tigers on Saturday.
Not to forget, Hull City are in brilliant form at the moment. They defeated Liverpool last weekend and also earned a point against Man United on 2nd February at Old Trafford.
Star attacker Sadio Mane returns to the starting lineup for the first time since returning from the AFCON. Moreover, this is the first time since November 2016 that the likes of Mane, Lallana, Coutinho and Firmino are starting together.
Wijnaldum scored for the Reds against Chelsea in the last game but the Dutch international starts on the bench today. Lallana, Can and Hendo start in the midfield.
As far as the defense is concerned, Klavan is ill and Lovren has a knee concern. In such a scenario, Lucas Leiva starts in the central defense with Joel Matip.
Retired England international James Milner will make his 50th league appearance for the Merseysiders. As expected, the former Man City star will play in the left fullback position.
Here is Liverpool’s confirmed XI formation vs Hull City.
The Reds have already dropped points against relegation threatened Swansea City and Sunderland this season. Back in September 2016, Liverpool dismantled Hull 5-1 at Anfield.
The Tigers are currently 19th in the table but they cannot be taken lightly. Recently, Hull have defeated United at home (EFL Cup) and also earned a point against Mouirnho’s men at Old Trafford (PL).
As far as Liverpool’s team news is concerned, at the moment, four players are out injured for the Merseysiders (PhysioRoom). However, all the key players are fit and Klopp must select the strongest possible XI to earn all three points tomorrow.
Star playmaker Sadio Mane returned from the AFCON and got some game time vs Chelsea. The Senegalese international must get the nod to start against the Tigers. He will should replace Emre Can in the starting XI.
Here is how Klopp must line up his Liverpool side vs Hull.
Now, Manchester United have the chance to close the gap on their top four rivals by beating Hull City at Old Trafford tonight.
After three games without a win, the Red Devils returned to winning ways by defeating Wigan Athletico 4-0 in the FA Cup.
Last week, the Tigers ended Man United’s fantastic unbeaten run in the EFL Cup. Can they upset Mourinho’s men again? We shall see.
As far Man United’s team news is concerned, expect Jose to make more than a few changes in the starting XI that featured vs Wigan at the weekend.
Spanish star David De Gea should return to replace Romero in goal. The likes of Jones, Valencia and Blind may return to start in the back line.
In the midfield, Carrick and Herrera will most likely replace Schweni and Fellaini. Mkhitaryan, Martial and Pogba should start behind Zlatan.
Here is Mourinho’s probable 4-2-3-1 XI vs Hull City.
