Liverpool have proved to be brilliant in the attack this season mainly due to the performances of in form trio Coutinho, Mane and Firmino.
However, Phil is currently out injured and Sadio will leave for the African Cup of Nations next month. Hence, the Reds are in the market to reinforce their offense in the January transfer window.
The Merseysiders were interested in signing Dahoud last summer and even recently they have been constantly linked with the Borussia Monchengladbach attacker. As per recent reports going on in the Italian media, even Juventus are interested in signing the German international. (TuttoSport) (CalcioMercato)
Another playmaker in the form of Spartak Moscow’s Quincy Promes is in the limelight as well and according to reports, Klopp is looking to strengthen his attack and Liverpool are ready to sign the 24-year-old Dutch star (The Sun).
In all fairness, Liverpool need a proven quality attacker and £25million ($32million) rated (Liverpool Echo) Promes is much better than Dahoud.
The 20-year-old Bundesliga attacker has featured in 14 games this season, scored 2 goals and provided 1 assist. Last season, he scored 5 goals and provided 9 assists in 41 games.
On the other hand, Quincy has netted 6 goals and provided 7 assists in 17 games for the Russian side this season. Last season, he netted 18 goals and provided 8 assists in 32 games.
More importantly, Dahoud is mainly a midfielder who can also operate in the attack and Liverpool already have players like Can and summer signing Wijnaldum who can perform that role.
Promes is a winger who can also play as a center forward and will be the perfect signing for the Reds in the absence of Mane/Coutinho.

Liverpool will have to reinforce their attack once summer signing Sadio Mane leaves for the African Cup of Nations in January.
The Reds were heavily linked with a move to sign German international and Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud last summer but the move did not happen.
This month, the Merseysiders have once again been linked with the 20-year-old player and the latest reports suggest that Klopp is ready to move in to finally seal his signing in the January transfer window.
According to German source Bild, Liverpool will offer 30 million euros ($32million) to lure Dahoud from the Bundesliga side.
The same was reported by another German source Express almost two weeks ago.
Moreover, not so long ago, Borussia Monchengladbach chief Max Eberl claimed that Dahoud will not be sold in January (via Kicker). Therefore, it will be intriguing to see how the transfer saga unfolds in the next two months.
This season, in 12 games, Mahmoud is yet to open his account and has only provided two assists. In your opinion, should Liverpool splash 30 million euros to hire the services of Dahoud?

Liverpool have been linked with a move to sign German international and Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud for quite some time.
The Reds were looking to sign him in the summer transfer window but the move did not happen. In fact, the latest reports suggest that the Merseysiders never made an offer for the 20-year-old starlet.
Few days back, reports indicated that Liverpool will move in with a serious offer of 30 million euros (£26million) to hire the services of Dahoud in the January transfer window (via Express).
However, Borussia Monchengladbach chief Max Eberl has claimed that Mahmoud will be going nowhere in the winter window. Emerl stated (Kicker):

“There is a zero per cent chance that Mahmoud will leave in January,”
“There is no offer for him on the table from any club and we have not had any offers for him in the past either.”

The versatile midfielder has not been able to perform at the optimum level so far this season. In 10 appearances, Dahoud has not scored yet.
Moreover, the youngster has mainly warmed the bench this season. He has only started four out of ten league games, eight out of 16 games in all competitions and has only completed 90 minutes in four fixtures.
In such a scenario, an offer of £26million from Liverpool might be tempting for the German side. It will be intriguing to see how the transfer saga unfolds in January.

Liverpool have been interested in signing German international and Borussia Monchengladbach starlet Mahmoud Dahoud for quite some time.
Back in the summer, reports (via Bild) suggested that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is ready to hire the services of the versatile Kaiser. However, the 20-year-old midfielder eventually stayed with the Bundesliga side.
Now, recently, German source Express have reported that Liverpool will move in with a serious offer of 30 million euros ($32.3million) to finally sign Dahoud in the winter transfer window.
Borussia Monchengladbach finished fourth in the league last season, sold their key midfielder Xhaka in the summer and are now struggling in the Bundesliga this season.
Dahoud was in decent form last season. In 32 league appearances, the youngster directly contributed in 14 goals (5 goals and 9 assists). This season, he has been average. In 10 games (all competitions), Mahmoud has not scored a goal and provided only two assists.
The above mentioned price tag is very high. Should Liverpool splash the cash and sign Dahoud?

Liverpool adequately improved the quality of their attacking midfield in the summer transfer window by signing a top player in the form of Sadio Mane.
Moreover, the Merseysiders also lured a versatile attacking midfielder in the form of Wijnaldum but Klopp is mainly utilizing him in the central midfield.
The German manager wants to further amplify the quality of his squad and wants to sign Mahmoud Dahoud from Borussia Monchengladbach.
The Reds were interested in signing the young German international in the summer transfer window as well but the 20-year-old versatile star eventually stayed with his club.
However, according to the latest reports (Daily Express), Klopp is ready to finally sign Dahoud and is preparing a mammoth move of 25 million pounds ($32.5million) to secure his signature in the winter transfer window.
Mahmoud can play effectively in multiple positions in the central and attacking midfield. Last season, he scored 5 goals and provided 9 assists in 27 league starts for Borussia Monchengladbach.
In all fairness, Klopp must focus on improving the back line and the strike-force in the winter transfer window.

Celtic make a return back to the group stages of the Champions League this season after they came through their play-off tie with Hapoel Be’er Sheva.
The Scottish champions took a 5-2 lead away from Celtic Park with them to Israel where they lost 2-0 to ensure a 5-4 win on aggregate and a spot in the draw for the next round, rather than falling into the Europa League once again.
It is the first time in three years that Celtic will feature in the group stage of Europe’s premier competition along with the elite from across the continent. They will bank a reported £22 million in revenue for the additional six games that they will feature in before the knockout stages of the tournament.
Celtic sat in pot four for the draw in Monaco given they have fallen down the UEFA coefficient table and had to qualify via the play-offs this year.
Brendan Rodgers’ side could not have been drawn against a tougher side from pot one as they will sit in Group C with Barcelona. The Spanish giants are the favourites to lift the trophy at the Millennium Stadium in May.
Celtic fans though will be hoping their side can repeat their famous victory over the Catalan side as they beat the Spanish champions 2-1 (BBC) in 2012 thanks to goals from Victor Wanyama and Tony Watt. That evening ranks up there as one of the greatest nights in Celtic’s European history.
Celtic also could not have gotten many tougher games from pot two than they have with Manchester City. With Pep Guardiola in charge (Mail), City will fancy their chances of going all the way in the competition and will be expected to qualify into the last 16 along with Barcelona.
The English side have started well in the Premier League and have scored plenty of goals since Guardiola took charge from Manuel Pellegrini in the summer.
Rodgers will be hoping his team can pick up maximum points against German side Borussia Monchengladbach who are their opponents from pot three. Monchengladbach finished fourth in the 2015/16 Bundeslia to qualify for the play-offs in the Champions League.
They were able to beat Young Boys from Switzerland over two legs to make the group stages. The former German champions famously reached the final of the European Cup in 1977 where they were beaten 3-1 by Liverpool at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.
Celtic have started really well this season under Rodgers. They have won both of their games in the Scottish Premiership where they are the 1-4 favourites in the Scottish football betting to lift the title once again in Scotland, despite having strong competition from Old Firm rivals Rangers this season.
Rodgers made a number of signings in the summer to strengthen his squad. Moussa Dembélé and Kolo Touré joined as free agents, while Scott Sinclair made the journey north of the border to sign for the Green Hoops from Aston Villa.
This summer, the German manager has lured Wijnaldum from Newcastle United and has mainly played him in the central midfield during the pre-season.
Now, reports suggest that the former Borussia Dortmund boss is looking to sign another midfielder in the form of Mahmoud Dahoud.
Back in April, Guardian reported that Liverpool are interested in signing the €30million ($33.5million) rated Borussia Monchengladbach star.
Renowned source SportBild have now claimed that Klopp is ready to seal the signing by paying the above mentioned fee for the 20-year-old Kaiser. Bild also claim that the German international can be lured for a fee of just €10million next summer.
Dahoud can play anywhere in the midfield and can also be utilized effectively in the attacking third as well.
Last season, the youngster featured in 32 league games for the Bundesliga side, scored 5 goals and also provided 9 assists. (Picture: Getty)
The players in discussion are N’Golo Kante (Leicester City) and Granit Xhaka (Borussia Monchengladbach) (Daily Star).
The North Londoners already have a strong tackler in the form of French international Francis Coquelin. Goes without saying that Kante has been far better than his compatriot, still, Wenger needs a versatile DM who can also provide quality balls into the final third as well.
Such a role can be effectively played by Swiss international Granit Xhaka. According to Goal, Arsenal are expected to complete the signing of the former Basel player before the start of the European Championships.
Xhaka has played as a holding midfielder and also as a creative central midfielder for the Bundesliga side. This season, he scored 3 goals and provided 2 assists in 36 games for Borussia Monchengladbach (Picture: Reuters).

Arsenal lured the signing of a versatile defensive midfielder in the form of Mohamed Elneny last winter but if reports are anything to go by then the Gunners are still interested in reinforcing the midfield department with another defensive star.
Two top holding midfielders in the form of Xhaka and Kante are heavily linked with a move to the Emirates in the summer transfer window.
The Swiss international is close to Arsenal as per reports but in all honesty, Arsenal must sign the French international who has been brilliant for Leicester City in their title winning campaign.
According to France Football, Arsene Wenger is first in the race to sign the 25-year-old star in the summer transfer window.
In 36 league games for Claudio Ranieri’s side, Kante has scored a goal and provided 4 assists this season.
The $43m (Daily Star) rated Les Bleus star has been the midfield general and has provided rock solid cover in front of the back four all season long.
Arsenal already have the likes of Coquelin, Arteta, Flamini, Elneny and Bielik for the defensive midfield role.
It is highly unlikely that the North Londoners will sign both Xhaka and Kante to overcrowd the department. Hence, signing a proven Premier League player in Kante will probably be the right choice.
In your opinion, should Arsenal sign Xhaka or Kante?

Kallstrom was signed back in January 2014 (on loan), Bielik joined the Gunners in January 2015 and last winter Mohamed Elneny signed for the North Londoners.
Now, if reports (Telegraph) are anything to go by, Arsenal are closing in to sign Granit Xhaka from Borussia Monchengladbach.
The Swiss international is mainly a central defensive midfielder. At the moment, Arsenal’s first choice holding midfielder is Francis Coquelin.
It is highly likely that Granit will take Coquelin’s place in the starting XI if he does end up joining for the club because he is not only a strong DM but also a brilliant passer of the ball.
If Cazorla stays at the club as well then Xhaka will most likely form the all important midfield partnership with the Spaniard.
Here is how we believe Arsenal will line up with $51m (Mail) rated star.
