The England international spent the 2017/18 season in the Premier League on loan with Swansea City but he has now decided to drop down a division to enhance his prospects of regular game.
Initially, Abraham had hinted that he could fight for his position with the west London giants but Maurizio Sarri’s preference for Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud meant that he could not break into the Blues matchday squad.
As such, he has now taken the decision to drop back into the Championship and he can certainly be expected to make an impact with the Villains after previously netting 26 goals for Bristol City during a loan spell during the 2016/17 season.
At the start of the summer, Steve Bruce’s side were facing the process of entering into administration amid their financial constraints but the change of ownership in between has once more made them a genuine force to reckon with.
Jack Grealish and James Chester were among the players who could have left during the difficult situation but they have managed to overcome the predicament with Yannick Bolasie, Axel Tuanzebe and Abraham among those bolstering the side through loan deals.
At present, Villa have accumulated nine points from their opening five matches and this sees them positioned fourth in the standings, four adrift of Leeds United and Middlesbrough who are occupying the automatic promotion places.
Up next, they are scheduled to face Sheffield United on the road and they should fancy their chances of picking a positive result, should the recent history between the sides be considered.
Since 1992, Sheffield are winless against the Villains in league football with just three points picked in the form of draws and this should provide the west Midlands outfit with a boost ahead of this weekend’s encounter.

The Villains witnessed a tough transfer window where they were uncertainties regarding their financial situation but they have still made a good start to the ongoing season.
According to Birmingham Live, the west Midlands outfit are aiming to pursue the services of Abraham on a season-long loan as they look to better their chances of top-flight promotion. Nevertheless, Steve Bruce’s side don’t have a straightforward route to the 20-year-old with several Italian and Dutch clubs hoping to lure him overseas.
Abraham has struggled to break into the Blues lineup over the past couple of seasons, where he has spent on loan with Bristol City and Swansea City respectively. At the present moment, he remains behind both Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud in terms of competing for the centre-forward position and he may be best served pursuing another temporary challenge away from Stamford Bridge.
Blues boss Maurizio Sarri has placed a keen emphasis on trimming the first-team squad before the end of the month and this has witnessed plenty of activity with Kurt Zouma, Michy Batshuayi and Tiemoue Bakayoko making way on season-long loan deals. As such, Abraham may follow a similar route this month, though he may re-consider dropping into the Championship after experiencing Premier League football last term.
Aston Villa endured a frustrating summer transfer window where they were at one stage on the verge of going into administration but thankfully for them, a change of ownership has helped them resolve their financial constraints. John McGinn and Orjan Nyland were the only permanent signings for the Villains before the transfer deadline on August 9.
Aside from this, they have also witnessed loan arrivals with Andre Moreira and Axel Tuanzebe joining them from Atletico Madrid and Manchester United respectively. Barring the Premier League, clubs within the English Football League are permitted to make loan signings until the end of the ongoing month.

At the moment, Milner, a natural midfielder, starts as the first choice left back for the Reds but Klopp needs to find a permanent solution for the position.
Back in the summer transfer window, the Merseysiders were heavily linked with a move to sign Aston Villa’s Jordan Amavi (L’Equipe)
According to the recent updates provided by French source Foot Mercato, Liverpool have been constantly interested in signing the 22-year-old defender, they are not letting go and have always had eyes on him.
The French international is a versatile player who can not only operate in the defense but in the midfield as well.
In the last campaign, Amavi took part in twelve fixtures for Aston Villa but then suffered a season ending knee injury. After returning, this season, he has featured in 17 games and provided one assist.
As per the provided Foot Mercato link, Olympique Marseille are also looking to secure the signing of Amavi but the player is not excited about a move to the Ligue 1 side.
The North Londoners are close to hiring the services of French attacker Nkoudou from Ligue 1 side Olympique Marseille.
Now, according to reports (Mirror), Spurs are ready to move in with an offer to secure the signature of young Aston Villa playmaker Andre Green.
The teenage England international, who will turn 18 in less than 48 hours, is mainly a winger but he can also play as a central attacking midfielder and as a secondary striker as well.
Last season, the versatile starlet featured in 14 games for the U-21 Aston Villa side and directly contributed in four goals (2 goals and 2 assists). Back in March, Green played against Spurs and Swansea City for the senior side in the Premier League.
In your opinion, should Spurs sign Andre Green?
The Reds have already lured a center back in the form of Joel Matip and are now focusing on reinforcing the left back position.
Spanish defender Alberto Moreno is Liverpool’s first choice LB at the moment. However, last season, his performances at the back were highly inconsistent. Klopp needs someone who is strong at the back and also supports attack when needed.
According to reports (L’Equipe), Liverpool have already moved in and contacted French international Jordan Amavi’s agent ahead of a potential $16 million summer move.
The 22-year-old Les Blues man is a versatile player who can effectively operate as a left full back and also as a left midfielder.
Last season, he featured in 12 games for Aston Villa but then suffered a season ending knee injury.
In all fairness, Liverpool must sign a proven quality full back to replace Moreno in the starting XI. Amavi is just not good enough (Picture: Getty).
At the moment, arch rivals Tottenham Hotspur are two points ahead of Arsenal and have a far superior goal difference as well.
Therefore, only a Spurs defeat can help Arsenal tomorrow. Mauricio Pochettino’s men face relegated Newcastle United side.
As far as Arsenal’s team news is concerned, expect superstar playmaker Mesut Ozil to return to the starting XI in place of injured Danny Welbeck. The German playmaker needs to set up two goals to equal Henry’s PL assist record (20).
The likes of Jack Wilshere and Theo Walcott are hoping to earn a place in the England squad for the European Championships and the duo will probably get the nod to start against Villa.
Here is Arsenal’s strongest possible 4-2-3-1 vs Villa.
The Red Devils are four points behind fourth placed Man City in the league and cannot afford further slip ups if they are to have any hope of playing CL football next season.
Next up, Louis van Gaal’s men will face bottom of the table Aston Villa side at Old Trafford and United are favorites to earn all three points.

Wayne Rooney played for the U21 against Middlesbrough and made his first team return for a few minutes in the midweek game against the Hammers.
It will not come as a surprise if the captain finally returns to the starting XI against the weakest team in the league. Young Marcus Rashford deserves some rest not just physically but also from the huge responsibility of leading Man United strike-force.
Here is Man United’s probable starting XI vs Aston Villa.

The international break is finally over and the Premier League action returns today with the reigning champions Chelsea taking on bottom of the table Aston Villa side.
Goes without saying that the Blues are the favorites to earn three points away from home at the Villa Park.
As far as the team news is concerned, manager Guus Hiddink has selected a strong starting XI for the game as they look to finish the season as high as possible in the table. Qualification for next season’s Europa League is still a realistic target.

Chelsea currently have 41 points in 30 league games. On the other hand, only a miracle can save Aston Villa from relegation as they have 16 points from 31 games in the Premier League.
There is huge surprise in the Chelsea starting XI with no sign of Terry or Cahill. Instead young Matt Miaza makes his first PL start for the Blues alongside Ivanovic in central defense.

After 30 games, the London side only have 41 points and there is no chance that the Blues will feature in next season’s Champions League.
Next up, Chelsea will face bottom of the table Aston Villa side at Villa Park and the Blues should be considered favorites to earn all three points. As far as the team news is concerned, two star players in the form of Diego Costa and Radamel Falcao are expected to return from their respective injury concerns (PhysioRoom).
Pato has normally warmed the bench after signing in the winter window and surely if Falcao is fit, there is no way he will be starting.
The likes of Matic and Fabregas should start in the midfield. Oscar, Willian and Pedro should start in the attack behind Costa. Here is Chelsea’s probable starting XI vs Aston Villa.

Liverpool are facing a huge dilemma at the back with more than a few first key defenders out injured at the moment.
The likes of Martin Skrtel, Mamadou Sakho and Dejan Lovren are sidelined with injuries and only one senior defender in the form of veteran Kolo Toure is available for the central defensive role.
Midfielder Emre Can has been utilized as CB as well but Liverpool surely need more options.
In such a scenario, the good news for Liverpool and the supporters is that Portuguese defender Tiago Ilori has reached an agreement with Aston Villa to cancel his loan spell and return (Daily Mail) to the Reds.

As per the provided Daily Mail link, Villa boss Remi Garde has confirmed that the 22-year-old defender has gone back to Anfield.
Ilorionly featured in the U21 Premier League for Villa during his loan spell but he might be in the starting XI for Liverpool in the FA Cup game against Exeter. What a turnaround that would be.
Capable of playing in various defensive positions, Ilori can provide Jurgen Klopp with decent options. With key players out injured, Tiago has the opportunity to impress and make a strong case of getting into the starting XI.
