Currently, they sit at the top of the table but surely they need more depth and quality to compete for the title.
For now, Sturridge is in red hot form having scored in every game this season. On the other hand Suarez will be available for selection next week.
Latest reports suggest that Liverpool are looking to lure Ivory Coast striker Lacina Traore who currently plays for Russian side Anzhi.
Anzhi are willing to sell the striker who scored 12 goals in 20 league starts last season and also provided 4 assists.
The 23 year old netted 19 goals and added 9 assists in all competitions. The versatile ability of scoring and creating is something that Brendan Rodgers values a lot.
He started 6 Europa League games for Anzhi, scored 4 goals and also provided 4 assists.
The talent is inevitable and the best part is that he is available in the upcoming transfer window.
The question is, Will Liverpool pay the asking price, will Liverpool be willing to pay £14m for this rising star, we shall see.

Arsenal are perhaps the only contenders left to sign Wayne Rooney from Manchester United as Chelsea have opted to sign veteran Samuel Eto’o from Anzhi.
Jose Mourinho made two bids for the England international but in vain as Moyes has always been reluctant to let Rooney leave for Chelsea.
In turn, the Portuguese manager has acted swiftly to sign two top stars from Anzhi, first Brazilian playmaker Willian and now reports suggest that Chelsea are all set to sign Rooney’s Aternative Eto’o.
Eto’o had a brilliant time at Inter under the management of Jose Mourinho and he was key part of the Nerazzuri squad that won the treble in 2010. Former Barcelona star striker scored 37 goals and provided 15 assists that season.
The three time Champions League winner is now 32 years old but still a prolific goal scorer and provider of assists as well.
It is highly unlikely that Chelsea will now move again for Wayne Rooney. Chelsea already have strikers like Torres, Ba and Lukaku sitting in the dugout who could not even start against Manchester United.
The question is, will Eto’o jump straight into the starting lineup of Jose Mourinh?. The Cameroonian star still has it and with such quality playmakers playing behind him, the fans can expect a lot of goals.
If Eto’o keeps his top form then surely other strikers will have to warm the bench. Mourinho will have no problem starting him week in week out as he did with Diego Milito who was the main striker for his Inter side even at the age of 31.
His prime years may have past but premier league defenders should still fear Eto’o as his finishing is still lethal.

Chelsea already have a star studded squad but Jose Mourinho is still looking for one more major signing before the end of transfer window. The pursuit of Wayne Rooney is not really proving to be fruitful, as United are not interested in selling him to one of their rivals.
However, if they do lose out on Rooney, it is expected that Blues will still sign someone to further reinforce their attacking lineup.
The latest reports suggest that Chelsea are to hijack Tottenham’s move for Brazilian international Willian and the playmaker may as well be Rooney’s alternative.
BBC reported that former Shakhtar star had his medical at Spurs but is yet to sign for them. Meanwhile Chelsea are planning to jump in with a bid to lure the talented midfielder.
Jose Mourinho already has many attacking midfielders available in his squad but well he wants more options to amplify the chances of winning the premier league crown.
Willian scored twice in the Champions League against Roberto Di Matteo’s Chelsea last season and may be attracted by the idea of playing in the competition with the Blues as Spurs will only play in Europa League this season.
However, with the World Cup coming up next year, and with that much competition, Willian is by no means guaranteed more playing time at Chelsea than he can expect at Tottenham. We shall see how the saga unfolds.

Liverpool have secured yet another signing this summer after hiring the services of Valencia left back Aly Cissokho on a season long loan. Rodgers has been looking to reinforce that position and the French star will improve the squad.
However, the major bad news for Liverpool and the supporters was that they lost out on possible Marquee signing Willian as the Brazilian has opted to join Tottenham Hotspur instead. Nevertheless, Reds do have the funds to land a quality alternate.
The question is, who will be that Marquee signing?
With not many days left in the transfer season, there are not many top options available as well. On the other hand, Liverpool will surely not want to lose out on a player again just because they are not in Europe, a major possibility though.
One likely option they might consider is Ajax’s Christian Eriksen. Now that they have lost out on Anzhi star, chances are that Liverpool are to focus on £17m Willian Alternate.
Liverpool are lacking an attacking midfielder and Eriksen is a top talent. Not so long ago, Both player and Ajax’s manager have come up with statements that there are chances Eriksen may as well move to Liverpool. However, the merseysiders have not yet reportedly submitted an offer for the Dane star.
Tottenham have a habit of stealing Liverpool’s transfer targets. Willian is gone, Lamela is heading in the same direction. After signing two playmakers, surely Spurs will not go for third Eriksen.
Therefore, Brendan Rodgers must not waste time before other suitors turn up. Their rivals for fourth place are reinforcing heavily and Reds must bring in a top quality star to challenge or else they may as well fail to qualify for Champions League for 5th straight year.

Arsenal continue to chase Liverpool star man Luis Suarez but the reds supporters should not worry if the latest reports are true. Telegraph suggests that the club will be given funds to sign a top quality star and his arrival does not depend on Suarez situation.
Reports indicate that Liverpool are seriously looking to sign Brazilian international Willian from Anzhi for 35 million Euros. Reds are assured that funds will be provided to complete one marquee signing this summer.
Liverpool thus far have sold more players and brought in a few this transfer season. That is the reason why their books are showing positive balance of 5.2 million Euros. There is no concrete evidence as yet that Liverpool owners will be willing to let Rodgers spend that amount but we will have to wait and see.
Reds failed to lure Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Shakhtar as Champions League runner ups Dortmund intervened and signed him. Surely, signing highly rated Willian from Anzhi is not going to be easy as well when there are a few Champions League clubs also showing interest.
Anzhi only signed the attacking midfielder from Shakhtar few months back for a hefty sum. The Brazilian was impressive in UEFA Champions League last season as he directly contributed in 7 goals (4 goals and 3 assists) in 6 CL appearances for the club, including a brace against then reigning Champions Chelsea.
Rodgers wants to add an attacking playmaker into his lineup for next season and Willian can be that marquee signing. If Liverpool are able to hold on to Suarez and add Willian then that can be a mouthwatering prospect for the fans.
However, it is too early to dream, the main stumbling block can again be Liverpool’s exclusion from Europe. Despite being highly talented, Willian has only played two games for national side. He will surely want to feature in next year’s World Cup in homeland and may as well prefer Champions League football.
Only 18 days left before the summer transfer window shuts. Therefore, the merseysiders should move quick enough to know where they are headed in pursuit of the Brazilian. In case they do lose out on him, they will have enough time to spend the assured funds to sign an alternate.

It looks more and more likely that Fernando Torres will be at Chelsea next season as the Blues are not interested in keeping Senegalese striker Demba Ba. German Marko Marin has already departed for Sevilla and now Anzhi are poised to sign Ba.
The arrival of Mourinho surely pointed towards many arrivals and exits. One main concerning position was that of a striker. Chelsea have signed the likes of Lukaku, Ba, Sturridge and Torres over the past few years but none has been as prolific as the legendary Drogba.
For now, it seems that Ba is the one to depart and Torres, Lukaku will probably stay. The question is, Are Chelsea looking to sell the wrong striker and perhaps Torres should be the one leaving?
Currently, Blues are chasing the signature of star striker Edinson Cavani. The Uruguayan will cost Chelsea a huge amount and surely, he will be favorite to start week in week out.
Torres signed for Chelsea in 2011 for a record fee and he has never been able to touch double figures as far as league is concerned. While Demba Ba only joined last winter and has scored 6 goals for Blues as yet.
Although, Ba’s goal scoring stats for Blues are not really prolific as well but still one can say that he has not been given enough time, and a hell lot less time than Fernando Torres who has been far from a 50 million player for far too long.
Adding to that, Lukaku was impressive on loan for WestBromwich Albion and perhaps is the only Chelsea striker who has the traits of Drogba and fits Chelsea’s style of play.
Not to forget, Chelsea have already signed Andre Schurrle who can play winger and a striker as well.
Torres is adamant that he wants to stay with Chelsea but is he really going to get much playing time if Cavani signs. Is he going to accept a bench role being 29 years old? Moreover, what is the point of keeping a player on the bench who earns a mammoth 175k a week?
For now, it is likely that Demba Ba will depart. Whatever happens, the fans are not really worried for now as the blues supporters have complete faith in Mourinho.
The defender is by no means new to the premier league having spent six years with Blackburn Rovers and featured 185 times for the club.
Samba left Blackburn to join Russian giants Anzhi and now joins Queens Park Rangers who are fighting to survive relegation under Harry Redknapp. The transfer fee is around £12 million, which is club’s record fee.
Not to forget, QPR have already signed forward Loic Remy from Marseille and splashed around 10 million Euros for the French International. Manager Harry Redknapp is delighted to sign the defender having lost Ferdinand and Nelsen this month.
Samba will strengthen QPR’s defensive line alongside another new addition, Korean full back Yoon Suk-Young.
The Congo international also tried to sign for the Rangers last year but Rovers did not accept his transfer request. Later they let him go to join Anzhi.
Now that Samba has joined QPR, Harry will look to focus on the attacking options as he hopes to add more fire power upfront before the end of transfer window.
QPR have been linked with several players during this transfer window and the situation is no different on deadline day as well.
Peter Odemwinge and Stoke’s Peter Crouch are considered to be Harry’s main targets as he continues to strengthen the squad to make sure that QPR do not go down.
Like Harry Redknapp, Mark Hughes signed some big names during the summer transfer window as well. However, he failed to utilize them effectively in any system and was eventually shown the door.
QPR supporters will be hoping that Redknapp can turn things around with his signings and revive the team to survive relegation. Whether or not he can make it possible or flop like Hughes, only time will tell.
