The Clarets have secured five top-flight victories on the bounce and this sees them within two points off the sixth position which guarantees them a qualification spot in next season’s Europa League.
On the contrary, Chelsea ended a two-match winless streak last weekend as they sealed a stunning 3-2 comeback win at Southampton. The victory has propelled them to within seven points off fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur, who hold the final Champions League place.
Players to watch for:
Chris Wood – Burnley: Chris Wood’s injury comeback has been crucial to the Clarets’ push for European football. The New Zealand international’s return coincided with the club’s return to form against Everton last month, and Wood has since been in a purple patch in front of goal. The former Leeds United man has contributed five goals and one assist in the previous five games, and four of those have come during the second half of matches.
Olivier Giroud – Chelsea: Giroud had been in and out of the Blues starting lineup this term but the Frenchman should be considered a regular starter after his exploits against Southampton. Giroud was brought on for the underperforming Alvaro Morata last weekend and he managed to spearhead a tremendous comeback as the Blues sealed a 3-2 triumph from a 2-0 deficit. Giroud scored a brace for Chelsea which included the winner and the performance was reminiscent of his Arsenal days where he built up the reputation of putting in match-defining displays off the bench.
Prediction:
Burnley have been solid in their home turf over the course of the season, and Chelsea can expect a tricky challenge. Based on the Blues’ defensive record of late, they are likely to concede against the hosts, and we are anticipating a share of the spoils.
Burnley 2-2 Chelsea

Liverpool have lost a superstar this month as Coutinho completed his move to Barcelona. The question is, how will the Reds cope without the little magician?
The Merseysiders have already shown that they can do great without Coutinho in the team so losing him is not such a big blow.
Liverpool started that season without Philippe and in the first three league games, they earned 7 points. More recently, the Reds have won their last two games (vs Burnley and Everton) in the absence of the Brazilian.
The good thing for Liverpool is that Lallana returned before the departure of Coutinho and the England international has impressed lately. Now that the Brazilian is gone, the former Southampton captain should be a regular starter in the center of the park because he is the most creative midfielder in the squad.
Adam should partner the likes of Can and Wijnaldum in the midfield. Mane, Salah and Firmino are irreplaceable in the attack.
Andrew Robertson has proved to be brilliant in the recent games and he should always start. Trent Alexander-Arnold has been far more productive as compared to Gomez recently and he should be preferred. In our opinion, here is Liverpool’s strongest XI after Coutinho’s exit.

Tottenham have been brilliant in the Premier League this season but still failed to win the title. To make further progress next season, Pochettino must hold onto his key stars.
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho signed Eric Bailly to strengthen his defense last summer. Now, the former Chelsea manager is ready to splash a huge sum to sign three key Spurs players to improve things at the back this summer.
According to Daily Star, Jose is ready to splash a fee of 110 million pounds ($142million) to hire the services of Kyle Walker, Danny Rose and Eric Dier from the North Londoners.
Spurs have the best defensive record in the PL this season and the above mentioned trio have been influential for Mauricio Pochettino. It will be intriguing to see how Man Utd will line up if the stars do end up moving to Old Trafford in the summer transfer window.
Walker and Rose have been two of the most consistent fullbacks in the country. United lack a consistent left back and Danny can solve that dilemma for Mourinho. On the other hand, Valencia has been fantastic for the Red Devils int he right back position but Jose needs a long term replacement for the veteran star and Walker would be the perfect man for the job.
As far as Dier is concerned, he is mainly a strong defensive midfielder but this season, Pochettino has mostly played him in the defense.
Over the years, Mourinho has had strong DMs in his teams such as Makelele, Essien and Matic at Chelsea, Cambiasso at Inter Milan, Khedira and Diarra at Real Madrid. However, he lacks one at Manchester United. Not to forget, the Portuguese boss did not rate Schneiderlin very highly and sold him in the winter window.
If Eric joins the Red Devils, we expect him to start in the defensive midfield role under Mourinho. Here is how Man Utd will line up with Rose, Walker and Dier.
The Los Blancos defeated the German champions 2-1 away from home and Ancelotti’s men have a mountain to climb. Who will come out on top?
As far as Real Madrid’s team news is concerned, expect Zinedine Zidane to make only one change in the starting XI that played in the first leg last week.
Gareth Bale has a calf injury and should be replaced by former Malaga star Isco. The Spaniard scored a crucial brace for Madrid and helped them earn all three points at the weekend. He deserves to retain his place in the team after his MOTM display against Sporting de Gijon.
Alvaro Morata is also in contention to make the starting XI but we expect Karim Benzema to start with Isco and Ronaldo in the attack.
Here is Real Madrid’s strongest possible 4-3-3 XI vs Bayern Munich.

Chelsea star Willian is in the focus and Man United have been tyuing to sign him since Jose Mourinho left the Blues to join the Red Devils last summer.
Even recent reports (via Yahoo Sport) have suggested that the Red Devils are ready to sign the versatile playmaker, who is rated around €55million (via CIES).
The Brazilian star has stated that he is happy (Goal) at Stamford Bridge but in all fairness, the best possible move for him would be join Manchester United this summer.
He is not a first choice player under Conte and has to join Jose Mourinho, under whom Willian was always a regular starter. He started 28 league game in the title winning 2014-15 campaign and started 32 last season (Mourinho was sacked in the middle of the season).
In the current campaign, the Italian boss has mostly opted to select Pedro in the attacking third ahead of Willian. Moreover, the former Juventus manager’s priority for the wing back role is Victor Moses.
The former Shakhtar star has featured in 24 league games this season, however, he has only started 13 times. Moreover, he has not completed 90 minutes in even a single league game this season.
Chelsea are on top of the league but Willian has mainly been a bench warmer and it makes little sense that he is happy as an impact sub at the Bridge. The Samba star is 28, he must move on for regular football this summer and Manchester United could possibly be the best destination for him.
Tottenham splashed the cash last summer window to sign Vincent Janssen from Dutch side AZ Alkmaar.
Spurs supporters hoped that the Netherlands striker will be able to play as a cover striker for Harry Kane and prove to be brilliant in his absence. Unfortunately, that has not happened as yet.
In the absence of the England international, Janssen has not been able to step up. The North Londoners must sign a top star this summer to finally solve the dilemma and they have to agree the signing of Moussa Marega.
Recently, reports in Germany (Bild) have suggested that the Reds and Spurs are eyeing Marega, who is currently playing for Vitoria, on loan from FC Porto.
The 25-year-old star has a contract with the Primeira Liga giants until 2020, and has a mammoth release clause (DN) of 40 million euros ($43million).
This season, the Mali international has been in fantastic form for the Portuguese side. In 17 league appearances, Moussa has scored 12 goals and provided 2 assists.
Spurs need someone who could not only cover for Harry Kane but also support him in the strike-force if needed and Marega completely fits the bill.
Moreover, Pochettino needs quality and depth in various key areas if he is to perform well in Europe next season and the French born star could cover more than just one attacking position. Marega is a versatile talent, he is mainly a secondary striker, who can effectively play as a lone center forward and can also be deployed on the flanks as well.

Arsenal fans will be disappointed if star playmaker Mesut Ozil leaves the club this summer. They will surely be furious if he ends up joining a rival club in the Premier league.
Recently, we covered a report (via Football London) claiming that Manchester United boss, Jose Mourinho is eager to bring the German international to Old Trafford.
The former Chelsea manager worked with Ozil when he was in charge of Real Madrid. Therefore, Jose knows all about the qualities of the 28-year-old attacking midfielder.
At the moment, Man United have more than a few versatile attacking players like Mata, Lingard and Mkhitaryan, who can play in multiple attacking positions. Ozil can do the same but he is a specialist in the No. 10 role.
Over the years, Mesut has been renowned for providing lots of assists while playing behind the main center forward. Therefore, Mourinho will most probably utilize the World Cup winning star in the AM role, if he does end up joining Manchester United.

Arsenal are struggling badly at the moment and cannot afford to lose world class stars like Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil in the summer transfer window.
The North Londoners do want to agree new deals with the above mentioned playmakers but if their offers are taken into consideration, it can be said that Arsenal basically think that Ozil is way better than Alexis and hence deserves to earn way more than him as well.
According to recent reports, Arsenal have offered a mammoth contract to the former Real Madrid attacking midfielder worth £280,000-a-week (via Daily Mirror).
On the other hand, the Gunners have offered a deal to Alexis Sanchez that will make him earn (Telegraph) only £180,000-a-week.
The Chilean international wants (Guardian) around £250,000-a-week but Arsenal have not matched that sum as yet and hence his exit from the Emirates looks highly likely.
Ozil was named Germany’s player of the year for 2016. On the other hand, Alexis Sanchez was Arsenal’s best player in the season before last and he has been their best player so far in the current campaign as well.
In addition, Alexis is way more versatile than Ozil. The former Barca man can play in any attacking position, even as an out and out center forward.
Therefore, it is absolutely insane and unfair that Arsenal are prepared to pay £280,000-a-week to Ozil but are not ready to match Alexis’ demand of a £250,000-a-week salary.
In your opinion, is Ozil really better or more vital than Alexis?
The duo are absolutely irreplaceable.
Lamela remains injury prone, Son has been inconsistent and Sissoko has so far proved to be a waste of $$$ since completing his move from Newcastle United last summer.
Therefore, the North Londoners are ready to reinforce their attack in the summer and are confident (via Mirror) that they will sign £30million rated ($37million) Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha.
The 24-year-old Ivorian star is a versatile playmaker who can effectively play anywhere in the attacking third.
The Argentine boss has mainly utilized the 3-4-2-1 formation this season after the arrival of Wanyama but he may have to revert back to the 4-2-3-1 system to include Zaha in the starting lineup.
Wilfried mainly starts on the right hand side of the attack and could be a decent addition in that system. In a 3-4-2-1 system, Alli and Eriksen will always be the first choice attackers to play behind star striker Harry Kane.
Jose Mourinho will be looking to return to winning ways when United face Hull in the second leg of the EFL Cup semi final.
Manchester United have one foot in the final of the competition after beating the Tigers 2-0 in the first leg at Old Trafford. The former Chelsea boss is expected to make more than a few changes in the starting lineup that featured vs the Potters.
Bastian Schweinsteiger should return to the starting XI and partner Michael Carrick in the center of the park.
Argentine goalie Sergio Romero may replace David De Gea. As far as the defense is concerned, the likes of Marcos Rojo and Matteo Darmian may return to the starting XI as well.
Martial, Rashford, Lingard and Rooney are expected to start in the attack for the Red Devils. Here is Mourinho’s probable 4-2-3-1 XI vs Hull.
