Arsene Wenger finally managed to defeat Jose Mourinho as Arsenal beat Chelsea 1-0 to win the Community Shield.
The game was not really exciting with very few chances created by both teams and a fantastic first half goal from Arsenal playmaker Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain proved to be the difference between the two sides.
The England international received the ball, cut back on his weaker foot and smashed the it past Belgian goalie Courtois. The former Southampton star almost created a second Arsenal goal for Nacho Monreal as well.
Former Chelsea goal keeper Petr Cech who completed his move to Arsenal this summer was impressive for the Gunners. The Czech international commandeded his area brilliantly and produced a superb save from Oscar’s free kick in the second half.
The defenders were in top form for the North London side and frustrated the Chelsea attackers and specifically manager Jose Mourinho all game.
