The North Londoners were fantastic from the word go and constantly pressurized Pep Guardiola’s men.
Mauricio Pochettino’s tactics were spot on once again and Spurs took a two goal lead at the break.
The Citizens performed better in the second forty five minutes and created more chances, however, Spurs were solid at the back and kept City out. In seven league games, Tottenham have only conceded three goals so far.
England Internationale Dele Alli was arguably the best player on the field against Manchester City. His movement and trickery were a threat for the opposition and the 20-year-old attacker deservedly scored for his team thanks to a wonder ball provided by Son.
Tottenham remain in second place in the table and are now only a single point behind Man City. The supporters are absolutely delighted and are heavily praising Alli’s brilliant performance.
Who will come out on top?
As expected, Jurgen Klopp has selected a very strong starting XI for the contest and has only made a single change in the lineup that started the game against Hull City last weekend.
Dejan Lovren did not feature vs the Tigers last weekend and has now returned to replace Ragnar Klavan in the starting XI.
The former Southampton star starts with the likes of Joel Matip, James Milner and Nathaniel Clyne in the defense in front of German goalie Loris Karius.
Dutch international Georginio Wijnaldum and captain Jordan Henderson start in the central midfield. As far as the attack is concerned, the likes of Philippe Coutinho, Adam Lallana and summer signing Sadio Mane start behind Roberto Firmino.
Here is Liverpool’s confirmed starting XI formation vs the Swans.
However, he is now a key member of the squad.
The South Korean star has scored 4 goals in three Premier League appearances for the North Londoners this season. He has a better minutes per goal ratio than the likes of Aguero, Costa and Zlatan.
Stats released by daily Fantasy Football game Oulala today reveal that Manchester United and England teen sensation Marcus Rashford has the second best minutes per goal ratio in the Premier League this season.
The only player to top him is Tottenham ace Son Heung-min, following his second brace of the season at the weekend.
The Chilean international can earn a mammoth contract with any top European club and Arsenal fans should be worried. Serie A champions Juventus were heavily interested in hiring the services of the former Barcelona star in the summer (TuttoSport).
Is Alexis Sanchez (or any player) really worth £200,000 a week? Should Arsenal succumb to the Chilean’s extravagant wage demands to secure the star’s future at the club or allow him to leave for pastures new?
Fantasy Football game Oulala have come up with a stats-comparison and the revealed data shows that Alexis Sanchez is currently at the very top of his game and that Arsenal must do all they can to keep hold of the 27-year-old superstar.
The detailed stats of his performances ate provided in the Infographic below.
The North Londoners will face rivals Chelsea tomorrow. Who will come out on top? Antonio Conte’s men were fantastic against Leicester in the EFL Cup.
Manager Arsene Wenger made many changes in the starting XI against Nottingham Forest and the fans can expect to see star names return against the Blues.
Summer signing Lucas Perez scored two goals in the league cup game and should get the nod to start as the lone striker up front.
The likes of Alexis Sanchez, Alex Iwobi and record signing Mesut Ozil will probably start in the attack behind the Spanish striker.
Granit Xhaka has scored two long range goals in his last two games and he will likely replace Coquelin in the lineup to start alongside Santi Cazorla.
Here is Wenger’s probable 4-2-3-1 XI for Arsenal vs Chelsea.
The Blues played reigning PL champions Leicester City in the third round of the EFL Cup on Tuesday and were 2-0 down at half time. However, Conte’s men fought back and won the game 4-2 on the night.
Fabregas was influential vs the Foxes but it will not come as any surprise if he starts on the bench against his former team at the weekend.
Expect star players like Eden Hazard, Diego Costa and N’Golo Kante to return to the starting XI. Samba star Oscar will most likely replace Cesc Fabregas in the starting lineup for the Stamford Bridge club.
Thibaut Courtois should replace Asmir Begovic in goal. As far as the defense is concerned, Branislav Ivanovic should return to captain the side against the Gunners.
Here is Conte’s probable 4-2-3-1 XI for Chelsea vs Arsenal.
Next up, the Reds face Derby County in the EFL Cup and Klopp’s men should be considered favorites to qualify for the next round.
In the 2nd Round, the Merseysiders defeated Burton Albion 5-0 away from home. Can Derby stop Liverpool?
As far as the team news is concerned, Klopp is expected to make more than a few changes in the starting XI that played against the Blues.
Karius will most likely replace Mignolet in goal. Expect Sakho to start in the central defense with new summer signing Ragnar Klavan. Spanish defender Alberto Moreno should return to the starting XI as well.
The likes of Emre Can and Marko Gurjic may replace the likes of Wijnaldum and Henderson to line up in the center of the park against Derby.
Roberto Firmino and Origi may return to the starting lineup as well. Here is Klopp’s probable 4-3-3 XI vs Derby.
