Romelu Lukaku has recently stated his desire to become a Chelsea legend. The big striker wants to return to Stamford Bridge after completing his loan spell with West Brom and become a star. He surely has the traits to become a legend.
The Belgian was thought to be the one to replace the ever physical presence of Drogba and his massive price tag matched those expectations. But Lukaku did not get many opportunities under Villas Boas who did not play him much. He only played mere eight times in the league and was never on the scoresheet.
Every single manager in Roman Abramovich tenure except Ranieri preferred only one man, the prolific Drogba and rightly so, the Ivorian was a terror for the premier league defenses all his time with the Blues. And after his departure Abramovich wanted Torres to take his place but he has surely failed.
Lukaku failed to score in 12 appearances for Chelsea last season after joining for a £18 million fee from Anderlecht. Last season he struggled to make an impact on the Chelsea side under both Andre Villas-Boas and Roberto Di Matteo, falling behind some of the squad’s more establishing names.
This season, the 19 year old Belgian has scored nine league goals while on loan at Steve Clarke’s West Brom side. He believes that if he can replicate his current form with Chelsea when he returns to the club on a permanent basis next season, then he stands a good chance of making a name for himself.

“My aim is to play at the Bridge and to be a legend over there in the future. That is the dream. That’s what I signed for Chelsea,” “But the time is going so really I need to keep playing. And hopefully in the next few years become one of the key elements at the Stamford Bridge.”

Romelu Lukaku also revealed that the challenge of breaking into the Chelsea’s first XI is now harder with the signing of Demba Ba. He added

“That’s the thing when you play for Chelsea. They will always sign big players. So now it is up to me to show I can go over there and play and do the same as he does now.”

Things can be even more different when he goes back to the club in summer. Likely he would have to face a different manager once again. He left under Di Matteo, and then Benitez joined who might not be there at the end of the season.
Adding to that, Chelsea are after big names like Cavani and arguably the best striker in the world right now Falcao. If they are able to sign any of them, Lukaku will have tough competition for starting places.
Nevertheless, the young belgian has shown maturity and classy talent this season, furthermore the match with Drogba now makes more sense and Chelsea do miss a Drog like striker and if Lukaku can be that. He will definitely become a Chelsea Legend.

Ashley Cole is expected to win his 100th cap for England tonight against Brazil in an international friendly match at Wembley. He is surely the all time great English left back.
If he is selected for the final XI tonight to face Brazil then the Chelsea legend will become only the seventh member of the 100 cap club (Peter Shilton 125, David Beckham 115, Bobby Moore 108, Bobby Charlton 106, Billy Wright 105 and Steven Gerrard 100).
The Liverpool and English captain Steven Gerrard recently mention on a press conference that:

“It’s fantastic for him to get it against Brazil. He’s been a team-mate of mine for a long time so I’m very pleased for him.”
“Ashley’s been consistent in the England team for many many years.”

In a recent interview Ashley Cole backs English young generation. He said “with the young players coming through I think we have a great chance”.
Chelsea and England’s old guard Cole also said “I’m proud to play for England. From being a little boy from the East End, you would never think you’d get a chance to represent your country. I’m proud, privileged and overwhelmed by how many times I’ve played for England. I hope it doesn’t stop here.”
Cole made his English debut in March 2001 against Albania. There were suggestions Cole may lead the English team against Brazil instead Gerrard but England Manager Roy Hodgson ruled out such rumors.
Hodgson said “I don’t see any reason why the captain should let anyone else lead the team out.”
There are fears that Ashley has been the subject of negative headlines for off-field incidents in recent years, and he may not receive the warm welcome that could normally be expected from the crowd on the occasion of winning 100 caps.
