In last year or two LFC produced few wonder-kids and they will definitely be the future of club and players with big careers. I will start from defense where the Reds have a successor for Jamie Carragher.
Of course that player is Martin Kelly. He is eldest of all players that I will mentione here and he’s only 22 yrs old. Although he’s injured right now but he was an effective right back in the absence of Glen Johnson. Kelly’s natural position is centre-back but with his strength, pace and good technique along the right side he has been often deployed as a right full-back. Number 34 has already made a début for England senior team and was even called up to the EURO 2012.
Andre Wisdom can also play at central defense or at right-back position. Player with similar qualities like Kelly. This 19 years old was simply fantastic at his Liverpool senior team début, scoring a well placed header against Young Boys at Bern. After that he played series of games and although he still needs to learn (and he has a great mentor in Glen Johnson) boy showed great potential. Wisdom began his career at Bradford City before joining Liverpool in 2008 and he has also played for all England youth teams and captained U-17 and U-19 sides as well.
Midfield is next and who is better central\attacking midfield prospect than Jonjo Shelvey. London born player started his first football steps at Arsenal and then West Ham United before he joined Charlton Athletic and became club’s youngest player and youngest- ever goal-scorer, 54 days prior to his 17th . Liverpool recognized Shelvey’s talent and signed him in 2010 for £1.7 million.
Jonjo is LFC’s best player in Europa League at the moment having scored 5 goals in 9 matches. He is dubbed the new Steven Gerrard and at that young age he already featured in more than 50 games for the reds, maybe he will be the new Stevie G, who knows. Hard, tall, with strong shot and stamina, he is also a good passer with potential to be great.
Suso has been a revelation and he quickly proved his talent under Rodgers and the manager showed faith on him by promoting him to the first team. Bought by Rafa Benitez in 2010 from Cadiz, Suso was stolen at front of noses of Real Madrid and Barcelona. Already played in 13 matches this season and on October he signed a new long-term contract with LFC. The Spaniard, born in Cadiz in November 1993 can play at both left and right attacking flanks but his main position is central attacking midfield. Possess great touch, calmness on the ball and dribbling skills. After he played regularly in all Spain youth teams, he was absolutely delighted when called up fro U-21 team and we all know how tough the competition is.
With his middle name is same like the first name of one of the greatest centers from NBA league, Shaquille O’Neal, Raheem Sterling is youngest of these players and has been most exciting youngster this season. Liverpool have missed such a natural winger for years. Once more it was Rafael Benitez who snapped him 2 years back from QPR. With his pace, acceleration, dribble, technique, he is surely a key member in this Liverpool side and the reds must hold on to him. Raheem has represented England at all levels and for senior team also, on November. He just turned 18 few days back.
Another potentially great striker for the club is Adam Morgan, who is compared to Anfield “God”- Robbie Fowler with his goalscoring instincts. The forward has not featured in premier league yet but he did feature in Europa League and was brilliant in NextGen series. He played for England at under 17 and 19 level and looks set to be Liverpool’s regular starting striker in the years to come.
The last but not least is Daniel Pacheco. Dani is at the club from 2007 when he was bought from worldwide famous Barcelona youth team for undisclosed fee. With his ability to score goals from almost any position, teammates nicknamed him El Asesino (The Assassin). He can play like striker or attacking midfielder and with his skills, deadly pass, technique and great shot, he is simply lethal player. Football fans around Liverpool FC think that Pacheco has not yet got a real chance at the club, the same thing is in this season with Brendan Rodgers, but with 21 years, he could still be future star. Starred at all Spain youth levels, he won a Golden Boot at the U-19 Euro in 2010.
This is just a 7 player list, but Liverpool FC have more young-bloods in their ranks like Jack Robinson, Danny Wilson, John Flanagan, Conor Coady, Jordon Ibe, Krisztian Adorjan and many others, the future of this famous football club is by all means bright.

The last group fixtures of the UEFA Europa League produced some unexpected results. Who qualified for the knockout stages and who didn’t? Here is a recap of the group stage of the competition.
Group A – Liverpool finished first, with little bit of lucky results in last Thursday. Starting furiously at Bern, against Young Boys and winning 5-3 , the Merseyside Reds expressed their ambitions to win this group. However, lack of good results at home put Liverpool in fear for knock-out phase with Swiss club breathing at their neck. It all finished great for them as they beat Udinese at Friuli last night and went through with 10 points, same as Anzhi and Young Boys. Anzhi Makhachkala were very solid at home ground, winning all 3 games without problems. They just won 1 point away, but that was enough for qualification.
The biggest and most pleasant surprise was FC Young Boys Bern. Unlucky not to get through to next round with 10 points. The Boys played very good against all teams in group, especially against Udinese, winning both matches. Biggest disappointment in this group was Udinese. They played just 1 good game when they beat Liverpool at Anfield 3-2.
Group B – Only unexpected result in this group was that Atletico didn’t finish first but they’re going to the next phase anyway. The defenders of the title mainly used their second team and rested couple of key players. Last year best scorer and player in this competition, Falcao, didn’t play a single minute in this group stage, but is normal to expect him firing in the last 32. FC Plzen beat Atletico in last fixture battle for 1st place and Czech team were rock solid against Academica and Hapoel who finished 3rd and 4th, respectively.
Group C – In this tough group, Marseille won just one game and finished 3rd, not fulfilling expectations of their supporters and football world, in general. Fenerbahche were the best team from the start, only lost one game. The Turks collected 13 points and Borussia Moenchengladbach with 11.
Group D – Without any surprises, Bordeaux and Newcastle United will be playing in the last 32. Newcastle played this stage with team from couple of starters and mainly reserves but that was enough for them to be at the draw later this month. Girondins were 1st as they beat The Magpies 2-0 in last collision for top of the table. Maritimo and Club Brugge were not bad at all, but they won’t be participating in further games.
Group E – One of the tight groups, with three teams were in battle for first two places in last match day. Steaua Bucuresti and Stuttgart will continue to play in this year Europa League, although Die Schwaben were lucky with last night results. FC Kopenhagen finished 3rd with same amount of points as Stuttgart,8 , but Germans were better in matches between this two clubs. FC Molde sits at the bottom with 6 points.
Group F – In this very hard group for them, Dnipro was best team and one of the biggest surprises in this year competition with 5 wins and only one loss, away at Sao Paolo. They played attacking, attractive football and at they deserve to be 1st, ahead of Napoli and PSV, who was eliminated. Napoli did enough to progress and AIK Stockholm finished last in this group, as we expected.
Group G – Football world was probably expected to see Basel and Sporting in next round, but Genk was played very well and finished 1st without losing a game, with 12 points total. The Swiss side will play at spring in Europe and Videoton from Hungary were hard team to beat, they even won against Sporting and Basel, in process. Last year semi-finalists , Sporting, dumped out from Europe with very poor display.
Group H – Without any real troubles, Rubin and Inter will continue playing in this year competition. The Russians were solid in all games, especially against Inter, who in the other hand, decided to give a chance to some younger players in Europa League, but that was more then enough to challenge for the title at the end of EL season. Partizan Belgrade and Neftchi Baku didn’t had quality and strength to compete in this group and they were settled with 3 points each.
Group I – Olympique Lyon showed absolutely fantastic form and football and they won 1st place like piece of cake and they earned 15 points, more then any other team in this year competition, with only one draw against Sparta, in Prague. Strong Czechs deserved to be in last 32. cause they were better than Atletic Bilbao, another big disappointment . Shmona from Israel are last, with 2 points.
Group J – Lazio and Tottenham were favourites to win this group and they surely fulfilled expectations. They played uninteresting 0-0 in both of their games between each other and Panathinaikos were not good enough to cause any problems to them. Maribor from Slovenia start was impressive, with 3-0 win against PAO, but that was all they could do.
Group K – Another great team from Eastern Europe, Metalist Kharkov, topped the group with Bayer Leverkusen finished below them. The Ukrainian team is combined of couple of Brazilians and they play very attractive football, similar to Shakhtar’s. They were lost their last match against weak Rapid Vienna, but that match didn’t had a competitive significance. The Aspirin boys from Leverkusen were great too and they will be hard opponent to any club in last 32. Rosenborg finished 3rd and Rapid is last with just 3 points.
Group L – We could say that we expected better performance from Twente, but they finished last, not recording a win. Steve McClaren’s talented side didn’t show good football and they deserved to be out. Hannover is 1st with 12 and Levante 2nd with 11 points. Helsingborg, with last match win at Twente, finished 3rd.
Liverpool, Lyon, Atletico, Inter, Tottenham, along with UCL teams like Chelsea, Benfica and Zenit are amongst the strong contenders to win this year Europa League, but like I said before, beware of Eastern forces Metalist, Dnipro, Anzhi and even Steaua.
With 8 teams from Champions League, the draw will be very interesting on 20th December.

In June 2011, Kenny Dalglish bought one of the so called biggest English talents from Sunderland – Jordan Henderson. Dalglish paid a staggering 20m for the youngster and everyone in Liverpool FC was excited about new young signing and looked forward to the bright future.
Now, almost year and a half later, majority of the Liverpool fans are happy when he is not in the first team. England U-21 captain was in miserable form last season and didn’t produce anything good for the club. He only managed to score 2 goals in 63 games and his assists were lacking too.
With Dalglish at the helm, he was starter ahead of Dirk Kuyt and other sernior players but showed no signs of a 20 million player. It can be said that Dalglish forced him to his less favorable position on the right wing when he does not have the traits of a natural winger. Eventually, he failed to impress and his form from Sunderland was probably the best he has ever had in his career.
Understandably, it’s difficult for young players to settle in big club like Liverpool but he had his opportunities and didn’t make them. In came Brendan Rodgers who then gave every one chance and Henderson has made 15 appearances this season, even started last two league games for Liverpool as well.
However, it is quite evident his performances have been average yet again, especially if you compare it with other liverpool center midfielders. The club have numerous better options in the center with Jonjo Shelvey, Lucas Leiva, loanee Nuri Sahin and even Joe Allen (who by the way didn’t impress much for now).
Good question now is should Rodgers sell Jordan Henderson in January to at least recoup some of 20m pounds the club wasted last summer. Several mid-table teams have already expressed interest in Hendo and also for him perhaps the better option is to continue his career at Fulham, Villa or even go back home to Stadium of Light.
He got his chance at Liverpool, blew it up big time and not there is no place for him, so it’s time now to move on like many before him who could not impress the reds faithfull and didn’t justify their value.
In your Opinion, do you think Liverpool should sell Henderson?

One of unwritten football rules is that one time great player not necessarily need to be a good manager. The most reliable proof for that is – Mark Hughes.
Former Man United star and Wales international simply isn’t competitive for that job because he don’t have a clue about coaching. The fact is that he did nothing with Blackburn Rovers, Manchester City and Fulham, as well with Wales national team, which he managed for five years. Without any respectable results in those teams, he was appointed as manager at Queens Park Rangers in 2012 and at that point we had the idea he’ll ruin this team.
Hughes managed somehow to survive relegation and I’m sure that was not his credit. He proved me right, showing horror form this season, because QPR is lying at the bottom of the table without win. That is the worst start in premier League in club history. They didn’t even win against Southampton at home yesterday and that should be the last game for Mark Hughes at the helm.

Queens Park Rangers is a wealthy football club and they did bring some very classy players in a last couple of years like Bobby Zamora, Djibril Cisse, Ji Sung Park, Junior Hoillet and many more and they have expressed ambitions for battling for the European football next term. But that is just an illusion right now, cause they have only 4 points in 12 matches this season.
For all that blame should go to only one person, Hughes, who didn’t manage to create a team from good players. It’s all about individual actions from Taraabt, Cisse or Zamora, all that is far away for pleasing for the eyes. A good manager is supposed to form a solid side with several individuals. Mark doesn’t know how to do that and that’s why he deserves to be sacked for being completelty clueless.
The club owners had a lot of patience with him and now is right time for Welshman to leave, before second half of the season.
There are great managers in the market right now and Harry Redknapp or Rafa Benitez are two of many. In fact one can say that any manager will do better than Hughes with suc a team at disposal. It is only a matter of time that QPR board and owners will react and decide to sack the worst manager in the premier league, Mark Hughes.
