If reports in the media are anything to go by then the Reds have secured deals worth £71.2million (fee plus wages) to hire the services of the midfielder from Arsenal.
As per Guardian, Liverpool agreed a fee worth £40million with the Gunners. On the other hand, the 24-year-old star agreed a deal worth £31.2million (£120,000-a-week) with the Anfield club (BBC).
The former Southampton was part of the Arsenal squad that was thrashed by the Reds last Sunday. He expressed delight after completing his move to Liverpool.
As far as Jurgen Klopp is concerned, the German manager claimed that he is excited by the fact that Oxlade-Chamberlain is a Liverpool player. The former Borussia Dortmund manager praised the Three Lions star and stated (LFC):
“He may still be young but he has a lot of experience in the Premier League, Champions League and for his country. Already he is a very, very good player and I think he has the mentality and desire to get even better – and that excites me.
The Merseysiders have revealed that the versatile star will be wearing the No. 21 shirt for the club. The number was last worn by Lucas Leiva, who left the club to join Lazio this summer.

According to Paul Joyce from the Times, Alex Oxlade Chamberlain snubbed Chelsea to join the Reds and he could be followed to Liverpool by two stars in the form of Thomas Lemar and Virgil van Dijk.
The Dutch defender should be the main priority since Liverpool have got a very inconsistent defense.
Van Dijk has proved to be one of the best central defenders in the Premier League and will largely improve Klopp’s back line.
Star playmaker Coutinho has not played for the Merseysiders this season but if he stays then there is no real need for Klopp to sign Thomas Lemar.
However, if the club decide to sell Coutinho then the 21-year-old French attacker must be lured to replace him. Lemar directly contributed in 31 goals in all competitions for the Ligue 1 side and has got the talent to be a hit in the PL.

The Reds’s premier out and out center forward is Daniel Sturridge, who has mostly been injury prone. Ings has mostly been on the treatment table as well since he joined the club under the management of Rodgers.
Origi is mainly a bench warmer and Firmino, a natural attacking playmaker, is utilized in the No.9 position. Not to forget, Klopp sold the likes of Benteke and Balotelli last summer and the duo excelled with their respective clubs last season.
In such a situation, Liverpool must sign a world class out and out center forward and someone like Aubameyang would be perfect. Liverpool have been linked with the $78million star this summer (The Sun). Klopp lured the Gabon star for Dortmund and he was in super form in the last campaign.
Recently, the 28-year-old center forward has come up and stated that he surely needs to leave to progress in his career (Independent).

“If I want to grow, I surely need to leave this summer. I am 28 and I need to grow. If I leave, it will only be somewhere I would play regularly.”

Last season, the African star scored 40 goals in 46 games for the German club. This season, he has already netted 5 times in just 3 appearances. In your opinion, should Liverpool sign Aubameyang?

Manchester United have been trying to sign a wide player all summer long but so far, they have not been able to achieve this objective.
Earlier in the day, we covered a report (via Independent) claiming that Mourinho has turned his attention towards signing Danny Rose because it looks highly unlikely that the likes of Bale and Perisic.
The bad news for United is that as per ES, Tottenham Hotspur are in no mood of selling the 27-year-old England international. So, United can forget about luring him as well.
Also Read: Manchetser United have Moved to Meet $47million Release Clause
In my opinion, United do not need Rose when they have players like Shaw, Rojo, Blind and Darmian who can operate in the LB & LWB positions. Also, United do not need to sign Bale (28), who might be past his best and was injury prone last season.
Instead, the Old Trafford club have to agree the signing of one of the best young attacking stars in the world in the form of Ousmane Dembele, who is rated over €100million as per Dortmund CEO Watzke (Goal).
The French international is just 20 and will be a much better investment than Bale who is also going to cost around €100million (Marca)
Like Gareth, Dembele is also a super quick playmaker who can play on both flanks. However, unlike Bale, the former Rennes star is a quality dribbler and can maneuver the ball with both feet.
Last season, Ousmane started 22 league games for the Bundesliga side and directly contributed in 19 goals (6 goals and 13 assists). Overall, he played 49 games, scored 10 goals and provided now fewer than 21 assists.
In your opinion, should Man Utd sign Bale or Dembele?

Klopp’s poor defense is the main reason why the Reds have not been able to keep up with the likes of Chelsea and Tottenham in the Premier League title race.
They are in pole position to earn Champions League qualification and must sign a world class central defender in the summer transfer window, someone who would be the leader of their back line next season.
The Merseysiders do need to sign a center forward as well and Lacazette (via Mirror via RMC) has been linked, however, the priority signing should be of a strong center half and they must lure Southampton’s Virgil van Dijk.
The 25-year-old Dutch defender has earned praise for his fantastic performances for the Saints this season. Van Dijk has been injured since January but when fit, he was arguably the best defender in the Premier League.
Not so long ago, former Liverpool manager Rodgers stated (Talksport):

“He’s (Van Dijk) 6ft 4in, he’s fast, he can play, he’s an international footballer, he’s good in the air – he’s got everything.”

Recently, Liverpool legend John Barnes has claimed that the £50million rated ($64.5million) defender is a top quality star and would be a good signing for the Anfield club. Moreover, he stated (Express):

“If it takes spending £50m to get Van Dijk and Klopp wants to do that and believes that’s the right deal for the club then I’d back him.”

This season, the Netherlands star has featured in 21 league games for Southampton and helped them keep 8 clean sheets.
He is also a threat in the attacking third from set piece situations and has netted 4 goals in 30 appearances (all competitions) this season. The former Celtic star has what it takes to stabilize Liverpool’s defense and should replace Lovren, who has been inconsistent but recently signed a new deal with the club.

Much has changed at Liverpool since the end of last season. Kenny Dalglish and his coaching staff have been sacked and in came Brendan Rodgers, a young manager with his own ideas and his own staff. While most people, including me, were sceptical about Rodgers he stepped up with confidence and has so far impressed in everything he has done.
Liverpool go into the season with a totally new playing style and formation. Brendan Rodgers wants his team to play possesion football, the so called Spanish tiki-taka. That style is very attractive and successfull, but also needs time to start working so patience will be key for the Reds next season.
In the transfer window Liverpool have so far brought in 3 new players and sold a number of big earners. Fabio Borini was signed from Roma to lead the attack while Joe Allen came from Swansea to be the player to dominate midfield and be the motor of the new looking squad. Oussama Assaidi is a shock signing as it was expected Tello will be brought in for the wings, but for €3 million could turn out to be a bargain. Other rumoured targets are Nuri Sahin on loan and Clint Dempsey.

Liverpool´s aim for next season is to better last season´s 8th place finish and try to finish as high as possible. Top 6 seems a very realistic target but with a few good additions before the end of the transfer window Liverpool could challenge for a top 4 spot. Brendan Rodgers has his own ideas and plans and it is very important that fans remain patient and give him their full support.

The key fixtures next season will be the first 3 home games, against Manchester City, Arsenal and Manchester United at Anfield. If the team can get good results in all 3 of these games it will be a huge confidence boost and will help Liverpool a lot in later games. Other important games will be the ones agains Tottenham, Everton, Newcastle and Chelsea who are all top 6 rivals.
If Liverpool manage to start the season well and win at least 2 of the first 3 home games then I think this season could turn out to be very good, and a top 4 finish is not as far as people think.

The key for a successfull season lies in keeping the current defence together. Daniel Agger has been linked with a move to Manchester City, and Liverpool just can´t allow such a player to leave before the season starts. Liverpool´s defensive pairing of Škrtel and Agger, alongside Lucas as defensive midfielder, will be key to a good season with very few goals conceded.

In attack the key player will be Luis Suarez, who has to stay injury-free and trouble-free to finally prove his worth at Liverpool and repay the faith of the club and fans. Fabio Borini will also play a big role as his quick pace and workrate will help Suarez tear defences apart. Rodgers will also look to bring a new right winger and it is important that whoever is bought for that position is good enough to help Liverpool score more goals than last season.

I expect a very good first season for Liverpool under Brendan Rodgers. If he keeps all key players and buys a few quality additions to the team Liverpool could surprise many people. The key is patience as the style of play Rodgers wants to bring to Liverpool doesn´t work overnight. I predict a 5th place finish with a very good run in the Europa League and FA Cup, possibly winning one of these two trophies.

In the next few days I will be doing a short preview of Liverpool´s business in the transfer market. Brendan Rodgers stated in an interview for the club´s official website that he is “looking forward to bringing in three or four players that can really affect the group.”
One of the important positions needs to be addressed is the left wing. Liverpool have not had a decent left winger for years. In Brendan Rodgers´s football philosophy wingers play a very important role. They are used to create space with their pace, cut inside and either go on goal or try to feed the lone striker. With Liverpool´s budget of around £30-40 million the club will need to be very careful in choosing their targets. Here is a short list of few quality targets for the left wing position.

Age: 21
Nationality: Uruguayan
Club: Bologna
Value: 15m£
The young Uruguayan playing for Bologna has been mentioned by many as Liverpool´s top target of the summer. He is a versalite player, and can also play as central attacking midfielder as he does for Bologna. Ramirez is known for his excellent skills and dribbling, his good passing and eye for goal. Latest rumours suggest that Liverpool are in talks with Bologna over a transfer.

Age: 19
Natonality: Spanish, Basque
Club: Athletic Bilbao
Value: 17.5m£
Another youngster on the list. The young Basque midfielder has impressed with his performances in Europa League last term and it is no wonder that half of Europe´s top clubs want him. Munian is also a versalite player and can also play on the right wing or more centraly. His pace and creativity are impressive and can torment defenses as he showed last season. He has been on Liverpool´s radar for a long time, but the high price is a big stumbling block.

Age: 21
Nationality: French
Club: Real Sociedad
Value: 7m£
The Real Sociedad youngster is a perfect example of a modern left winger. Griezmann scored 8 goals and provided 4 assists last season, not a bad return for a young winger. He would be the perfect choice for Liverpool as he will cost less than the two named above but has similar qualities. He has been linked with Liverpool recently, although nothing concrete seems to be happening.

Although Liverpool do have a few left wingers, but Cole is past his best, Bellamy is aged and Downing had a horrendous season last time around. Its on Brendan Rodgers to find a suitable player to fill the position if he wishes to. In my opinion, Liverpool need a young vibrant winger in their starting lineup to push for fourth place and the ones mentioned are no less than quality players.
