This Ederson guy wasn’t making the first team last season for Benfica – but if he was any good then Man Utd’s scouting system should have detected him then and put a bid in at that time. Instead they prefer to buy “finished product” and pay massively over the odds for that. They are not the only ones of course.
I think it’s lazy and vulgar – but that’s probably because I support a smaller football club than Man U who have no choice but to rely on good scouting, careful selection and good management of players to get results – not huge wads of cash thrown around.
