In the great scheme of things if a player signs for five years, or whatever, losing him for a month isn’t too great an issue IF, for the rest of the time he’s at the club, he’s worth it. Don’t know enough about this guy to comment either way – as with most LFC targets these days – but, as a general rule, it makes sense to steer clear of African players so we don’t lose three or four at the same time for a month apiece during vital parts of the season. Still think we need Sule and Hector more than anybody else and I’d keep my eyes on Pickford as he’s supposed to be a superb prospect and let’s be honest, we need a keeper!!!!!

While the cost of a player is assuredly an important point, I would think that the fact that they would be losing another player for up to a month while they are away at the African Cup of Nations would factor as more important. They do not need to lose another key player.

Would seem a bit strange to buy somebody from Ghana when he will no doubt be heading off to the Africa Cup of Nations within days or weeks! Sule, the German CB is 6ft 5ins and is available. HE is the sort of player we want and need for one of our defensive problem areas, not another player few of us have ever heard of and who plays in a sub-standard league. We certainly need a new LB but I rarely look beyond Hector, of Cologne, when I think about that position. Top player, regular German international and playing in a top league. Ticks all of my boxes, that’s for sure . . . and who cares if he costs more than this Ghanaian? Quality costs money but the benefits are obvious.
