The policy of buying or bringing through young English talent is vitally important even if it was only a way of ensuring young English talent keeps emerging.
But just as important for the club itself, it ensures that if the change of law happened at any point, governing how many foreign players can be fielded in any premiership team, at least Spurs are, and will be, a club that is improving without missing a beat, regardless of any changes to the law that might happen.
