At last a rumour i can get on board with.LFC linked with the wee Leicester lad Kante (pronounced superb). If LFC could pull this one out of the hat we would be champions next season. A player like him is what our team is screaming out for and has been for a couple of seasons. Defensively superb, his reading of the game is on a par with Xabi Alonso and Javier Mascherano, how we have missed those two.How our scouts missed him when he joined Leicester is anybody's guess. I think it might be time to have a look at this department in the club because we are missing a lot of very good players and ending up with som real sub-standard dross.LFC have got to be ruthless and get rid of these guys ,who are not doing a good enough job.

In the Ukraine versus Germany game Yarmolenko's defensive work seemed to be nil, he rarely came in off the wing, making it fairly obvious he sees himself as a self-contained right-wing entity with the single job of running down the right wing and who won't be doing much to help out in midfield and defence. He is, or can be, a very good player but whether or not LFC could afford to have somebody seemingly just going down the right wing and doing very little else is debatable. He could be a bit of a luxury player, which is okay when things are going well but a liability when we are under pressure! John Barnes, when at his peak, was a bit like that in that his defensive work didn't amount to much and he could always be found stuck to the white line on the left-hand side of the pitch but then we had a team far, far better than the one we've currently got and perhaps that sort of play might not be realistic at the moment!. In the good old days of John Barnes play was centred around the opponents penalty box for 89 minutes of every game, at Anfield, so defensively he didn't have much to do anyway.
If we did sign him I would hope that would release Milner to replace Henderson and not be seen as a way of replacing Milner. Exactly how we are supposed to fit Grujic, Zeilinski, Surin, Herrerra and several others into the team somewhat mystifies me, I must admit, but I STILL keep hoping we'll get a SPECIALIST defensive midfield man.
