Seen some ludicrous numbers mentioned for this Barca reserve, just as we do for every Barca reserve so rather worried about it. Still having counselling from us getting some unknown Madrid winger as part of the Michael own transfer to Real Madrid and he was bloody useless! He played about six games for us, I think?
Reserves tend to be reserves because they ain't good enough to be first-teamers and if LFC are going to mount a serious challenge next year we need to spend our money wisely . . . and that sure as Hell doesn't mean spending industrial skip-fulls of hard-earned dosh on reserves, no matter who they play for.
If necessary, get him on loan for a season and THEN hurl the cash at Barca if he's done the business. Too many average players in this country now who seem to have been signed because they've got fancy, Latin-sounding names, tasty WAGS and snazzy haircuts!
Must admit I don't know much about this guy so he could be good . . . but we daren't spend huge sums badly. If I had to choose I'd go for another player used to playing in a hard, physical league like Germany as coming here might be a culture shock to some players from more gentile, pussy-footing leagues that give players five minutes on the ball before a tackle comes in. Somebody big, daft, quick and dominating should do the trick!
