Mata proves his worth when u need him the most, i think the five of them are just good, lets work on them all, because Fellaini has many things to prove like he has been good so far this season. Maybe signing Strootman will be good to replace the aging Carrick as u have earlier said.

Fellaini and Mata have at time been good. But they are the Mutt and Jeff of United
Fellaini big and cumbersome many times and Mata like a dish rag getting knocked around to often. , and becomes invisable.
I agree, Carrick, Herrera, Blind and Strootman would be much preferable to choose from

van gaal should sell fellani & mata and use blind or carrick, strootman & herrera in a 4 2 3 1 formation.

STROOTMAN signing will boost the midfield and give LVG more options,especially when MU is struggling to be among top 4. Herrera, Fellani, Carrick, and Blind will all get chances to perform depending of the type of opposition play.
Also note mid field position is an area more prone to Injuries so it will be a good idea to have all of them in a team.
Without hesitation Strootman should be given number come January 2015.Hope he is now free from injury..

Herrera is a good midfielder to replace Paul Scholes. Strootman coming in is to replace the ageing Michael Carrick.
