I think van gaal is ruthless enough to play cavani van p up front with Rooney in no.10 role behind. Mata bench and kagawa sold. Fergie did treble with 4 top strikers , which are rotatable so think van gaal will do the same bringing mata wellbeck on and Rooney can play up top as well. Van gaal will drop players under performing no matter who!
Obviously we need strengthening in other areas and that will come in c mid and defence but look at real madrid s squad! Competition for places keeps u on your toes

If Edinson Cavani comes.. LVG will use three of them as starters, which players like Shinji Kagawa will be benched, Juan Mata has been a blast at the preseason tour. So for sure he will be used as a starter under LVG along side with Ander Harrerra.
