Think its high time Spain.began to look into the future.we all saw the selection against the Australians ystd, how they performed brilliantly, nd won convincingly without Tiki-Taka
After the dismal performance of Barcelona this season, it is only ordinary that d core barca players in the Spanish team would perform below par cept for Iniesta who was outstanding.
It is definitely the end of an era, and the new generations are the likes of; De gea, Juanfran, Koke, Martinez, Alba, Juan, Carzola, Fabregas, Thiago, Llorenté negredo & so on built around Iniesta.
They need formidable central defenders. Ramos is still ok, but thinks Pique has past it.
Without overhauling the Spanish set up, and if they continue to depend on past Glory, gradually Spanish football will be in the downward troll. “Indeed it’s the end of an Era”

Because he trusted them to deliver and they always did.
Torres was past his best before Euro 2012, selected and won Golden Boot, won it again at the Confed cup. Not really convincing but effective. Baffling that he did not have trust in David Villa even though he has always delivered and also scored 2 goals in their last warm up game.
Llorente was unlucky but not Negredo, He lost form, went 16 games without scoring and could only manage 1 league goal for City since the turn of the year. Navas was another player needed, his pace gives Spain another dimension/alternative to Tiki Taka.
Can have many arguments on the selection but no one can deny that those who made it are by all means top quality players as well… but failed big time.

I think their selection let them down. Del Bosque has relied too heavily on aging players – even though they won him so much, they’re past their peak. After EURO 2012 he should have looked to nurture fresh talent, but sticking with his old guns eventually cost him. Case and Point: after Iker Casillas’ game against Holland, he should have been benched. Also, I cannot fathom why players like Llorente and Negredo were overlooked for the squad.

David Villa should have played, Costa just had no experience playing in the Spanish setup and it cost them big time.
Still can’t believe what happened. They ripped every team apart for fun not so long ago and last night they coult not even play football to save their lives
