You have partially answered your own question; United simply don’t have the personnel to utilise Kagawa at no 10 and he isn’t as effective in any other position. Feguson bought Kagawa (to make a difference in Europe) and didn’t play him either for the same reason. He thought he could just shove him in the side and he’d improve it but the forwards are too ingrained in a system including wingers and overlapping full backs. Moyes has played everybody in the first team squad either in pre-season and virtually every combination in defence, midfield and attack. He identified 5 players that he wanted to replace or upgrade in July and Woodward let him down badly but everyone blames Moyes for not bringing them in when he had no support from the Glazers who couldnt give a damn and don’t have a clue about what it takes to manage a football club. Thats why Fergie loved it, they didn’t get involved just signed the cheques as long as they weren’t too big. That is why players like Sneijder were overlooked and academy players were brought in from other clubs.
