Arsenal considering possible sale of £40m-rated midfielder

Arsenal could reportedly consider the sale of midfielder Aaron Ramsey, should they fail to find the breakthrough in the contract negotiations. The Welshman has just 13 months left on his existing deal at the Emirates Stadium.
According to The Sun, the north London club are weighing up the future of Ramsey with the Welshman yet to commit himself to a new contract with the club. Ramsey’s current deal is due to expire at the end of the 2018/19 campaign but the Welshman remains in a contract standoff with the Gunners yet to meet his wage demands.
Ramsey is presently on a £100,000-a-week salary at the Emirates and he is supposedly looking forward towards a significant increase on his wages after witnessing the likes of Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang earn handsome deals following their January arrivals.
Should the Gunners neglect his demands, the Welshman is expected to extend his contract standoff, and this may witness his potential departure, should any of his suitors match his £40m price tag.
Ramsey has been hugely influential towards the Gunners’ progress in recent seasons and he has netted the winning goal in two of the club’s previous three triumphs in FA Cup finals.
Nevertheless, the Welshman is not keen on bowing to the club’s contract offer on the table and his situation is likely to remain of concern for the fans with the domestic transfer window having already opened.
Similarly to Ramsey, Wilshere has yet to decide on whether to commit to a new Gunners deal and his stay beyond the summer could depend on the final decision from Arsene Wenger’s successor.
As of now, Mikel Arteta appears the leading candidate to become the new Gunners head coach and the next couple of days will give a clear reflection whether the Spaniard will return to the Capital outfit.
