Liverpool want Agreement with Club before Negotiating Terms to Sign £40million Star

Liverpool have been heavily linked with Algerian international and Leciester City superstar Riyad Mahrez lately and reports going on in the media are interesting.
The Reds need to replace Philippe Coutinho with a proven quality playmaker and Mahrez would be a quality signing.
At the weekend, we covered a report via Bein Sports France claiming that Liverpool are close to signing the 26-year-old attacker.
According to Mirror, Arsene Wenger wants to sign the versatile playmaker, who is rated at £40million, to replace Alexis if the Chilean leaves the club this month but he could face competition from Liverpool.

On the other hand, Le Buteur have covered a story on Mahrez as well. They mention that Klopp recently praised the player and would insist on signing the African star, who won the PFA Player of the Year Award two seasons ago.
As per Le Buteur’s own information, the player’s agent has not met with the leadership of Liverpool as yet. They have further stated that Liverpool want to find a preliminary agreement with the Foxes first before negotiating terms of contract with the agent to sign Mahrez.
In the current campaign, Riyad has so far scored 7 goals and provided 8 assists in 22 league appearances for Leicester City, who are currently 8th in the table.
In your opinion, is Mahrez good enough to replace Coutinho at Anfield? Here is Liverpool’s probable line up with Mahrez.

Absolutely…he is as good as PC plus boasts better injury record. He is performing so well despite playing for an ordinary PL side…
Should be no 2 target for us beside K Trapp…

Sanchez is almost a free agent why can’t Klopp go for him. my radar reads Lemar and Sanchez in the first priority

i dont think riyad mharez is good enough to replace coutinho but may be a very good cover for Mo salah.

firstly do you really think you are going to get mahrez for 40 m , and do you think he is going to go anywhere to be cover? Dream on he said he wants a big club!

  5. Pete says:

Our Riyad is unlikely to be leaving the mighty foxes mid season.
If he does…the price will be close to £75m.
We are looking for a 7th place finish and Europa league..selling your best players halfway through the season is no way to achieve your targets. Hence..what would have been £50m in the summer is now inflated under a new manager by 50%.

i am very very sure if liverpool manager choose alexis than riyad, it will help us alot. alexis is a very strong, having perfect eye on goal i think his contruct is soon ending.
If kloop can bring him to Anfield, i think is wanderfull

I think he is better than countinho

  8. Nino Bran says:

To be frank, Riyad Mahrez lacks the propensity and the qualities of Replacing Coutinho. He can not do what Coutinho does at mildfield, He is not that creative like Coutinho. I see Alexis Sanches as the best replacement and suit in Coutinho’s role. Jurgen klopp should put a fight for him. Let us not make mistakes as we did when we sold Suarez by going for Ballotelli who contributed nothing.

  9. Eddy says:

Liver needs man like Alex Sanchez not Riyad we got 4 African players,,mane, Sarah, matip, then keita,,klop have to think about it, go with Sanchez, then at the summer bring keita at central role we ll forget about countinho..

Liverpool needs more than just one replacement. First they should get a very very good shot stopper ( goalkeeper ), then they get a creative playmaker, not just any playmaker but someone who can single handedly change the game, as a matter of fact they can get two with the money from Coutinho. That’s the only way we can win trophy if not Liverpool will still be a fourth place team. Sell No15 and put the money on another good defender

    Go for Hakim Ziyech
