World Class €125million Star Offered to Klopp's Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp DortmundLiverpool need quality signings to challenge for the title next season but more importantly, Klopp must hold on to the key stars present in his current squad.
Philippe Coutinho was brilliant for the Merseysiders last season and the Reds must not sell him no matter what. The Brazilian international is heavily linked with a move to sign for Barcelona.
According to Diario Gol, Liverpool will make things difficult for the Calatan giants and will not accept a fee less than 80 million euros.
The Spanish source have mentioned that Barca have opened another door to sign the Samba star and that is by offering Croatian international Ivan Rakitic to Liverpool.

Over the years, the 29-year-old star has proved that he is a world class midfielder. He has been a key member of the Barcelona side. Like Coutinho, Ivan is also a versatile talent, who can operate in the midfield and in the attacking third.
Therefore, as per the provided Diario Gol link, Barca believe that such a move would reduce the cash payment for Coutinho and will also not be bad for the Anfield club.
In the last campaign, Rakitic featured in 32 league games, scored 7 goals and provided 8 assists. Not to forget, he signed a new contract back in March (until 2021) that has a huge release clause of €125million (FCB).
In your opinion, is Rakitic good enough to replace Coutinho?

they want to give us an old timer for our fresh blood #never its high time the start grooming players not just crying out on other teams best players

  2. fernando says:

Rakitic is n good player but couthino is settled at LFC and we must not be bullied by the players to leave that’s under contract we all know Philip has been tapt up going way back last season by neymar so I reckon we hold onto him for this season and if he pushes for n move we should remind him of his contract that doesn’t have n release clause ynwa

  3. Femi Ajanaku says:

Coutinho is one of the key players in Liverpool, but looking at situations of things now, the guy really wants to leave the team. I think that is what we should consider, Ivan Rakitic could be a good replacement for him, Coutinho has really tried in Liverpool, so I think the team should allow him further is career in Barca

Why do teams like Barcelona want to steal and destroy other teams, they should have realized Coutinho`s potential while he was still at Milan. After all the grooming they coming bossing around that they are the best team in the world. We should hold on to our player. They offer of a player is not palatable.Good yes but almost finished,He must go to China. We should not accept their aging player.

  6. dave h says:

No we are supposedly not a selling club so should do all we can to keep hi hi one more seas at least one get one Suitable replacement, Which won’t happen this year even with Keita his value £100m + I this crazy market Barca know this is it will inflate further we need him for CL hopefully we beat barca I the final he change his mind must keep him a Emre Can ,

  7. Nassor says:

I’ll b very surprised to sell our precious gem stone Coutinho, it’ll b ten steps back, please don’t

  8. Unegbu Kessinger says:

Macherano, Alonso, Torres, Sterling, Suarez, now it’s Coutinho, if we keep doing this, believe it will happen that we will still start afresh to build another team. This selling our best players has pushed us back over and over why can’t we learn from our mistakes? YNWA.

  9. Wzulsalim says:

Hell no. We must keep Coutinho at least for another season. See how. Then we decide is that very wise to let him go. At least a bigger amount.

  10. BajanPool says:

If it is that he wants to go, let him go. What do you think about Manuel Lanzini…. I think he would be the perfect replacement for Phil. might even be more consistent. Any thoughts?

  11. okwi justine says:

Please stay firm by not selling him, replacing is not easy.

  12. Finders says:

Ha raglitik however u spell is an old man in football terms he would not cut pace of premier league worth 125 million jelly beans maybe but not real money .
Spanish league is slow and easy there are only 2 real teams and four teams in the league
And two will always be more equal than the others with the unfair tv deal

  13. niethaam says:

I personally think if he wants to leave let him leave it’s no use trying to keep a player that wants to go yes he will be missed but having a player in your squad not wanting to be there how will he perform how will it affect his game mentally ?

    • Lee says:

Who said he wanted to go? He will go to Barcelona eventually I’m sure, but have seen no suggestion he’s pushing to get there now

  14. pete turley says:

why has nothing been said about barca tapping up coutinho! they have been tapping him up for over 12ths…

    • Silvester says:

      Pete,
Liverpool had always been at the receiving end of all things unwarranted. Remember Heysel. Liverpool was banned from European football for many years while Juventus kept participating, never punished. Did hooligan in football stop? Where were the most hooligans reported? By banning Liverpool, UEFA had succeeded in stopping Liverpool from a hot streak of winning the UEFA Champion League. With regards to ‘tapping’, isn’t it common knowledge that all the mega rich clubs are guilty of tapping? But, apart from Liverpool, they are beyond the reach of the authority concerned. What ever happen, let us all stand firm and continue to support Liverpool. YNWA. Cheers!

  15. Edwin says:

Barca should groom their own talent from the academy and not snatch from other teams. They have to offer the same amount of $222 million to Liverpool as what PSG is willing to pay for Neymar.

  16. This is not good to us lfcfans we cannot continue selling our best players, especially at a time like this when we are off to face the world in the uefa best competition.pleãse our management should not swap coutinho or sell him in any amount,we love him very much, besides he is our best player.

  17. zayin says:

I would rather exchange Coutinho with Messi.. If Barca do this, thats really call good Bussines.. But not for Rakitic..

  18. tobi says:

    capital NO.
let’s be sincere had it been klopp met Suarez in the team we he became Liverpool manager, dnt u think we would have won the league with our present tactics. but wat happen. the team is balance only for us to fill Suarez’s space was so difficult. we are not selling cause it will be a big injury on us. except they will give us Suarez back or better still 270 millions £
