Picture – Liverpool Legend Announces Shock Retirement

Bayern Munich star Xabi Alonso appears to have announced his retirement from football via social media.
The Spanish superstar won the World Cup and two European Championships with the senior national side and won almost all the major trophies at club level with sides like Liverpool, Real Madrid and Bayern.
Alonso posted a picture (provided below) on his official twitter account and stated:

“Lived it. Loved it. Farewell beautiful game.”

We can expect the former Real Socieded midfielder to hang up his boots at the end of the current campaign.
He played full 90 minutes as Bayern thrashed Arsenal 5-1 at the Emirates on Tuesday night.
This season, he has so far featured in 27 games for the reigning Bundesliga champions, scored three goals and provided one assist.
