Not Barkley – Spurs Interested in Signing $32million Spaniard

With 11 games to go in the Premier League, Tottenham are 10 points behind leaders Chelsea and it looks highly unlikely that the Blues will be caught.
The North Londoners had a torrid time in the European competitions this season and they must improve that in the next campaign under the management of Mauricio Pochettino.
The Argentine boss needs to adequately strengthen his side in the summer transfer window. Yesterday, we covered a report (via Telegraph) claiming that Spurs are looking to sign Everton’s Ross Barkley.
According to reports in Spain (Marca), Tottenham are also interested in signing a certain Spaniard in the form of Las Palmas star Roque Mesa, who has a release clause of €30million ($32million).
The 27-year-old star is mainly a central midfielder, who can also be deployed in the defensive midfield role. This season, he has played 25 games in all competitions for the Spanish side.
Tottenham already have more than a few players who can operate in the central/defensive midfield.
The likes of Dembele and Wanyama have proved to be fruitful this season. Eric Dier was fantastic in the DM role last season, however, Pochettino has mainly utilized the England international in the defense this season.
As per the provided Marca link, teams in England, Germany and Spain are interested in signing Mesa. Sevilla are the only club to have made an offer for him, worth 8 million euros and that was rejected.
In your opinion, do Spurs need another central midfielder? Should Pochettino sign Roque?
