Eager Klopp Wants Liverpool to Agree $18.3million Star Signing to Win PL

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is looking to strengthen his squad in the winter transfer window and once again a central defender is linked with a move to Anfield.
The Reds signed Klavan and Matip last summer and now they are ready to sign another defender to replace Sakho who will most likely be sold this month.
According to Mirror, Liverpool are keen on signing Portuguese international and Southampton star Jose Fonte. Klopp sees his experience as a major asset that could help Liverpool win the Premier League title this season.
The 33-year-old defender who won the Euro 2016 with Portugal submitted a transfer request to leave the Saints (The Guardian).
This season, he has featured in 19 games for Southampton. His last game was against Everton on 2nd January. Since then, he has been left out of the squad by manager Claude Puel.
As per the provided Mirror link, Liverpool want to use Sakho as part of the deal for the player who will cost around 10 million pounds. However, the Sun reported last month that the Saints have slapped a price tag of 15 million pounds ($18.3million) on the center half.
Sakho may have attitude problems but he is still a quality defender and replacing him with a veteran defender makes little sense. In your opinion, should Liverpool sign Fonte to replace the French international?

We need quality players who are the right side of 30 to compete e.g. Van Dijk.

And just how long will a 33-year-old last? How pathetic. When we should be going for that Tah bloke, from Germany, who is about 20 or 22, instead of that we spend silly money on a guy with only eighteen months left before he is a footballing geriatric who can barely run. He’s only two years away from incontinence pads, for Heaven’s sake.
Our defence is by far the worst of the top clubs yet we either buy from the footballing equivalent of the Pound Shop or we spend stupid money on somebody with a very limited shelf-life.
Regarding Sakho, he was always useless so SHOULD have been sold, or shot, years ago.
Our manager has a good eye for attacking talent but is woeful when it comes to solving our defensive woes. Still need a LB, at least one CB (top-notch, not elderly or cheap) and a specialist DM. We are beginning to look weak, defensively, in every game and the potency, up front, has recently been found wanting. We’ll be in the Europa League places for the rest of the season unless we change tack.

    Well said…right on the money.
We will struggle to defend against teams that actually attack us.
Except for Man City result…the likes of Bournemouth exposed our Achilles heel.
We should’ve had a top notch keeper to support Suarez….would’ve won us title…and now Van Djik or someone similar, would give us at least one hand on premiership.
