Liverpool Ready To Seal $143,000-a-week Star Signing

Liverpool were shaky at the back last season under the management of Jurgen Klopp and the German manager made more than a few defensive reinforcements in the summer transfer window to sort things out.
The Reds signed a new goalie in the form of Loris Karius from Mainz and also lured two central defenders from the German Bundesliga by signing Joel Matip and Ragnar Klavan.

In such a scenario, reports suggest that the former Borussia Dortmund boss is looking to further reinforce his back line by signing Phil Jones from arch rivals Manchester United in the winter transfer window.

The British media outlet claims that Liverpool and Arsenal are ready to sign the 24-year-old England international who earns £110,000-a-week ($143,000-a-week) and will cost around 10 million pounds.
In all fairness, the rumor makes little sense because United and Liverpool have not done any direct business since 1964. Moreover, Jones is an average defender and not someone who will solve Liverpool’s defensive dilemma.
