Klopp Wants Him – Liverpool Must Sign this In Form Star

Jurgen Klopp DortmundLiverpool are flying high at the moment and are scoring for fun. The Reds netted 5 goals in their last league game against Hull City and are favorites to beat Swansea City next weekend.
The Merseysiders made more than a few signings in the summer transfer window and the new players are performing well for the Anfield club.
Manager Jurgen Klopp mainly strengthened his attacking/central midfield and the defense in the last window. Now, the former Borussia Dortmund boss must reinforce his strike-force in the winter transfer window.
Liverpool sold the likes of Mario Balotelli and Christian Benteke last summer and are now linked with a move to sign French striker Gregoire Defrel who plays for Italian Serie A side Sassuolo.
Last week, The Sun reportedly claimed that Klopp has sent scouts to watch the in form 25-year-old striker. Yesterday, Italian source GazzaMercato also stated that Liverpool are following the former Cesena center forward.
Last season, Defrel featured in 35 games in all competitions for Sassuolo, scored 7 goals and provided 6 assists. This season, he has already matched his goal-scoring tally of last season in just 9 appearances (7 goals and 3 assists).
The Les Bleus star is an experienced player and Liverpool must do all to secure his signature in January. Gregoire has four years left on his contract and if he continues to play brilliantly then the Reds will likely have to pay a huge sum to lure him.
In your opinion, should Liverpool sign Defrel?

Don’t know enough about this guy to comment either way but his stats for last year didn’t look good and it’s too early this season to get excited yet. If he keeps scoring at his current rate then, yes, he’s worth a punt but if he falls off a bit with his strike rate, as would be expected, then maybe not.

    If good enough why not

Seen loads of players do well in short periods and then fall away. Can’t judge somebody over nine games so makes sense to see how he goes for another 20-odd games and then see if his scoring record is still excellent.
If it is, sign him, if not, don’t! Not rocket science!
Would I judge any player after nine games? Not a hope!
