Liverpool have improved their attacking midfield by signing players like Mane and Wijnaldum this summer. However, the Reds have not reinforced their strike-force as yet.
The likes of Benteke and Balotelli must be offloaded, moreover, star striker Daniel Sturridge is out with a hip injury. In such a scenario, the Merseysiders must secure the signing of a top goalscorer before the transfer window closes.
Liverpool have been interested in signing Sporting CP center forward Islam Slimani who had a release clause of 30 million euros in his contract (expired in June). Back in June, reports suggested that the Reds made an offer of 25 million euros to secure his signature (Noticias Minuto).
Now, Klopp has got a clear opportunity to seal his signing because the Algerian international has handed in a transfer request (Express via O Jogo).
Last season, the 28-year-old African star scored 27 league goals in 33 appearances. Overall, he netted 31 goals in 46 games for the Primeira Liga side in the last campaign.
In all fairness, Jurgen Klopp must act swiftly and hire his services as soon as possible because Liverpool clearly lack a clinical finisher at the moment.

Klopp… Du wirst es nicht bereuen und viele Manager werden sich den A….. beißen, dass sie so lange rumgeeiert haben. Ich hätte ihn auch gerne in der Bundesliga bei dem BVB gesehen.
LFC does not lack finishers at all. Origi and Mane are doing just fine and have stellar form and recent record. Ings was even better than Origi before now done and dusted long term injury, perfect spare as he comes back to his best. Sturridge, when he recovers is just a good spare for Mane. Plenty of depth for a season without European level competition.

I have watched this guy on Utube and it is not just the goals, he scores with head and shots, very clinical and the accuracy is fantastic. If you look if the pace of the ball is a bit slow, it is right in the corner and I cannot remeber the last time I saw that from a striker. He is a must buy and bin Ings
He’s really very strong physicaly and a mega scorer. His agent say wright: If Slimani plays in a big club in Pl he will sore twice more than Vardy… And I think he will score twice more tnah Agueiro, Kane and will outhine many strikers. Too bad that the managers do not have the courage to sign him. A great loss for the PL, but I trust in Klopp, he feels always with regard to outstanding players.
if this deal happens, it will be my pleasure as a LFC fan because apparently we lack a striker who can score 20 goals and above from ever since Suarez and Sturradge did it, so far it is 2 seasons back, SUAREZ left and Sturradge started getting injuries and now with the available strikers, believe me there is no one who can be able to score 20 goals and above even if he is given chance to play all the 38 matches.so as the one who can do it is injury prone, sell one(Benteke) at 25-30million pounds and buy Slimani at 25-30million euros,good deal.LFC has good attacking midfielders who can create chances for him. 27 league goals means he has a sharp eye on goal target. so Klopp let Benteke go and sign him as a replacement.
