Since the departure of star striker and former captain Robin van Persie, Arsenal have not been able to replace the Dutch international.
The former Manchester United striker scored 30 league goals in his last campaign with the Gunners. Since then, no Arsenal player has been able to score 20+ league goals in a season. That dilemma can be solved if Arsenal can somehow lure Gonzalo Higuain from Napoli.
The North Londoners have been interested in signing the Argentine international for a long time. Arsene wanted Higuain back in 2013 (Guardian) and last summer (Telegraph) as well and the latest reports suggest that Wenger is ready to make a huge move to finally sign him this summer.
According to reports in Italy (CalcioMercato), Arsenal would offer 50 million euros ($55 million) and Olivier Giroud in a player plus cash deal to secure the services of the former Real Madrid star.
On 8th July, Mirror reported that the Gunners do not want to sell Giorud and have rejected several inquiries. Currently, he is Arsenal’s best striker and it will be intriguing to see what happens in the coming weeks.

Wenger is not the kind of a person who can waste that kind of money for someone who is almost 30 years old, if he does that, then he is leaving Arsenal after his contract expired in July 2017. There is no need to buy someone who is 30, Draxler is only 22 years old and he can change the attacking play of Arsenal for many years to come, not someone around 30 years old. If it happens I will be shocked for the first time, but I am not sure, because media always try to help some clubs to sell players, but for Wenger, he will not sign someone for that kind of money.
