Liverpool have to sort out the defensive dilemma once and for all under the management of Jurgen Klopp in the summer transfer window.
The Reds have already lured a center back in the form of Joel Matip and are now focusing on reinforcing the left back position.
Spanish defender Alberto Moreno is Liverpool’s first choice LB at the moment. However, last season, his performances at the back were highly inconsistent. Klopp needs someone who is strong at the back and also supports attack when needed.
According to reports (L’Equipe), Liverpool have already moved in and contacted French international Jordan Amavi’s agent ahead of a potential $16 million summer move.
The 22-year-old Les Blues man is a versatile player who can effectively operate as a left full back and also as a left midfielder.
Last season, he featured in 12 games for Aston Villa but then suffered a season ending knee injury.
In all fairness, Liverpool must sign a proven quality full back to replace Moreno in the starting XI. Amavi is just not good enough (Picture: Getty).
