One Man United Star Really Glad to See Rooney Suspended

Rooney Manchester UnitedManchester United signed top quality attacking players in the form of Angel di Maria and Radamel Falcao in the summer transfer market.
Understandable that United had no real depth in the playmaking department and hence the signing of Di Maria was much needed.
However, the Red Devils had two world class forwards in Rooney and Robin van Persie already there. Also two effective sub options in Welbeck and Hernandez as well.
Still, Van Gaal opted to let Danny and Chicharito leave and brought Falcao from Monaco. With such arrivals, the question was who would sit on the bench when all the attacking players are fit? From recent games, perhaps it is clear that Juan Mata is the answer.
The Spaniard was left frustrated at Chelsea as Mourinho benched him more often than not. Hence he completed record United deal last winter but now finds himself in the same complex scenario again.
Juan Mata Man UnitedMata’s best position is behind the strikers but in the last two games Van Gaal started Rooney as No. 10 behind two strikers Robin van Persie and Falcao.
The former Valencia player came late on in the second half against Leicester and was not even used against West Ham last weekend.
Selection dilemma in attack is massive for Van Gaal. Benching record signing Di Maria is out of question, also he is simply the best star at the moment. He did claim captain Rooney won’t be benched and it was unlikely that he would bench Netherlands captain Robin van Persie as well.
Moreover, Falcao is arguably the best out and out striker they have in the squad and in all this Mata is paying the price.
Hence, Juan Mata will be the one Man United player really glad to see Rooney suspended for the next three games. Wayne was handed a straight red card against the Hammers for his horrific tackle and Mata becomes the natural replacement to play at No. 10 in his absence.
