Giroud Out, Poldi In – Arsenal's Probable XI vs Newcastle

Arsenal FCArsenal went back to the top of the premier league after defeating West Ham and will look to strengthen their position on Sunday.
However, their next fixture is by no means an easy one. Newcastle United are in fantastic form and at home, it will come as no surprise if the Magpies defeat gunners.
Alan Pardew’s men have won 3 of their last 4 league games including 5-1 thrashing of Stoke City on boxing day.
On the other hand, Arsenal have only won once in their last 4 games ending a poor run of form in which they lost to City and drew against Everton and Chelsea.
As far as Arsenal team news is concerned, Wenger is likely to make few changes in the side that started against the Hammers.
It is about time that French striker Giroud is benched. He has been missing decent chances like anything and with the goal scoring return of Podolski, the German should be handed a start as a striker. The combination of Ozil and Podolski will be intriguing to watch.
Ramsey limped off injured vs Hammers, expect him to be replaced by Jack Wilshere who will return from his two game ban.
Here is Arsenal’s probable XI vs Newcastle.

Hopefully, we will have good officials to officiate the game because I still remember in one of the game we played against Newcastle years back, Arsenal was leading by 4-0 but ended up 4-4 when Newcastle were awarded 2 “dubious ” penalty by the math official…..

  5. JSK says:

Definitely rest Giroud. It will be good to see three Germans in the starting line-up and if (and only if) we’re comfortably ahead with 15-20 mins to go it might be effective to have Gnabry on with his countrymen – especially to give Theo a breather.
