Not 4 Games - Fernando Torres Should be Banned for 10 Games according to Manchester United LegendChelsea’s Fernando Torres may have not been guilty when he was sent off for a challenge on Spurs’s Vertonghen, however El Nino was in the limelight for more controversial reasons.
Former Liverpool star scratched Belgian defender’s face during the game at White hart Lane last Saturday.
Reports in the media suggest that Torres may face a lengthy ban for his act that can be as long as 4 games.
However, Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel believes that the Spaniard should not be shown any leniency by the FA and deserves a hefty ban.
The legendary goal keeper claims that Torres must be treated the same way as Liverpool’s Luis Suarez who was banned for 10 games for his bite on Ivanovic last season i.e.
Schmeichel stated:

“I see no difference in biting a player and scratching a player, you cannot raise your hands in modern day football.”

He also pointed out that media is not doing enough to highlight Torres’s actions and if it was Luis Suarez they would have been all over the place, making it the biggest story and crying to ban him again.
Whether Torres will be getting a massive ban as well, we shall see.
