Tottenham’s Priorities – CL Place and Finish above Arsenal

Tottenham’s Priorities – CL Place and Finish above ArsenalTottenham Hotspur scored their record number of points in a premier league season in the last campaign, yet they failed to lure Champions League football. Despite having one of their best squads, they still finished below Arsenal who had one of their weakest squads over the years.
Their priorities for next season perhaps remain the same and so does the questions for every season, Can they earn the Champions League spot again like they did in 2009-10 season? Can they somehow finish above Arsenal against all odds?
Despite not being able to achieve their main targets last season, Andre Villas Boas did a brilliant job at Spurs in his first year with the club and the Portuguese is the right man to lead them towards success.
The North Londoners have normally had quite a weaker squad as compared to their bitter rivals Arsenal but the gap has reduced over the years. Gunners only finished above Spurs by a single point in the last two seasons.
Spurs did qualify for Champions League in 2009-10 season and could have done the same in 2011-2012 had Chelsea not won Europe’s Elite prize that year.
This summer is perhaps most significant for Tottenham and Andre Villas Boas if they are to attain their priorities next season.
Spurs have a quality keeper, solid defense, the addition of Paulinho has reinforced the midfield even more, but they are missing a top quality striker upfront.
The key for Tottenham is to keep their star man and player of the year Gareth Bale this summer and as far as things are going, it looks likely that the Welsh star will stay put. On the other hand, if they are able to add a clinical finisher, which they must, then Spurs will have a complete set.
Other top teams have already started reinforcing their squads and Arsenal are looking for top talents as well. The battle for top 4 is becoming more exciting every passing year. Whether or not Tottenham are able to get their goals next season, we shall see.

It’s happy Thursdays or yet another year, living in the shadows of arsenal and watching the old black and white pathe news reels from the early 60s. Yes, over half a century ago. And still in a pokey mid table ground.

arsenal will be crying next season

With Spuds holding on to Bale and buying Paulinho and David Villa if Arsenal don’t get Higuain I would back Spuds to finish WAY above us next season though it really hurts me to the core to say it.
Our promised new era is looking like a 6th place finish at best.
Wenger, spend the f***ing money or go to PSG and piss them about

With a name like ARSEnal and Bummers..a logo that looks like an erect penis (probably overcompensation for the erectile dysfunction their team has been suffering recently) as well as having the most weird manager with a questionable and even more questionable current transfer policy) past and having had players with names such as semen, dicks-on …and carpetburns…. it induced mild pity for them when they say “Spuds”

you are right @ chuks… Arsenal will be crying next season; it will tears of joy, victory and triumph after a long wait. SCREW YOU! Bollocks 2 u @chuks… Guns will be firing on all cylinders.

Judging by the players they are attracting despite not qualifying for the CL and the caliber of coaches and manager they have as well as having the best training facilities around it seems Spurs will be the Andy Murray of the premier league next season! after years of hurt they will finally smash the glass ceiling and win the EPL. Put your money on it!

try to win title at emirates like we did at white hart lane in 2004…then u can be proud…otherwise…keep dreaming spuds..we got more trophies than you…forever in our shadow…

If spurs manage to keep Bale and get a new striker or two they should finish in the top 4 next season Benteke looks a good signing for spurs he could make up the difference !
