Belgian Starlet to be Mourinho’s Main Striker

Belgian Starlet Can be Mourinho’s main StrikerNow that Jose Mourinho has been finally announced as Chelsea manager, the club should move on to important aspects, the transfers to build the squad next season. The Blues are in the market for a striker but the new manager may as well have other ideas.
For now, Chelsea have Fernando Torres, the Spaniard who has found it hard to be consistent in the league and has a torrid record to say the least, Demba Ba who was influential for Newcastle but average as yet for the Blues and lastly the returning Lukaku who had an impressive season on loan with West Brom.
The dilemma with Chelsea is that the last striker who was completely able to fit in the system was the one Mourinho signed 9 years back in 2004. Who else but Didier Drogba but since his departure at the end of 2012 campaign, the blues have badly missed a leader upfront.
Mourinho, has a habit of playing his favorite players who fit the system well regardless of their price tag and there is no guarantee that Torres or Ba being senior than Lukaku will be preferred, that much we know.
The scenario here is that Belgian Lukaku is perhaps the one who can gel in the Chelsea system more easily than the other two mentioned. The blues game is heavily dependent on the quality midfield and the striker at times gets isolated as well if he does not have the combination of traits like pace and strength.
Torres and Ba were the main stars in Liverpool and Newcastle but at Chelsea they do not get the ball at their feet that easily because the movement is completely different and the blues do not really rely heavily on strikers. Plus they are too lightweight as well. In such case, a striker who could bully defenders with his physical strength and pace can be the perfect option. Someone who fights for the ball rather just runs in space to receive it on the ground. In short, someone like Drogba.
The Belgian starlet is exactly the kind of front man Mourinho may want. Lukaku was signed for a hefty sum even though he was just 18 years old. Although, he did not get many chances to prove why the comparisons with Drogba were rightly made but he surely did that with WestBrom last season.
Only 20 years old, Lukaku was one of the hardest strikers to deal with in the premier league, he started 20 league games for the Baggies and scored 17 i.e. more than Torres and Demba Ba.
The quality is inevitable and who knows the Belgian starlet can be Mourinho’s main striker next season. Nevertheless, he must be given the chance to at least prove himself with Chelsea or else he may leave Stamford Bridge in search of regular football.
