Arsenal’s Possible Signing of the Season

Arsenal’s Possible Signing of the seasonHaving failed to win a single trophy for the last 8 years, annoying for the fans when repeated though, Arsenal are ready to change the habit of not spending heavily in the transfer market. The gunners are likely to sign several top quality stars and this time without selling one of their own.
The funds are there and like always they are linked with quality players that may as well help them in challenging for the premier league title next season, never mind winning a trophy as well. Two key players linked are Everton’s Marouane Fellaini and the other is Argentine Gonzalo Higuain.
The question is, who will be Arsenal’s possible signing of the season?
Fellaini is a versatile midfielder. Although the tall Belgian is naturally a central defensive midfielder but he is one who can add both into attack and defense.
However, Arsenal already have more than a decent center midfield with the likes of player of the season Santi Cazorla, the dynamic Jack Wilshere, the tireless Aaron Ramsey and last but not the lest the reliable Mikel Arteta. Fellaini will surely add more quality to Arsenal’s squad but perhaps gunners need a world class striker more than anyone else.

Everton Marouane Fellaini

Arsene Wenger made a huge mistake by selling player of the season and captain Robin van Persie to Manchester United last summer. The Dutchman effectively helped the Devils win their 20th league title while Arsenal badly missed a prolific goal scorer upfront.
That void can be filled by someone who has brilliant conversion rate and a fantastic goal scoring record for one of the best teams in the world i.e. Real Madrid. Higuain has been scoring consistently over the years for Spanish giants and will be the perfect addition to the side.
Giroud did well in his first season in perhaps the toughest league but still he missed so many chances last season. Higuain is one of the best finishers around and can be the one who can finish majority of the chances created by Arsenal’s quality midfield.

Gunners have reportedly agreed fee for the Argentine forward but nothing has been confirmed as yet. The club must do whatever it takes to lure Higuain and must not lose another star like over the years they have mainly because of their habit of not spending much on a single player.
Higuain has all the traits to be regarded as Arsenal’s signing of the season. We still have to wait and see whether gunners will be able to sign him against all odds or not.

  2. latyph says:

No player does not wish to play in Arsenal as one of the biggest team in England, but the main problem is the team itself, both the fans and the board are to be blame, the board is not to spend enough money for the players, thinking about their own profits alone, and for the fans,if they decided not to go and watch our game at least 5 games, then the board will know how much they’ve lose and make necessary amendment for us

  3. Sebiomo Adewole says:

I hope arsenal sign both players

  4. Cazorlasteyn says:

  5. okeyphilips says:

Once and for all, will you bloggers please stop claiming that Arsenal struggled for goals last season. The facts just don’t support your argument. Only Chelsea and Man Utd scored more goals than Arsenal last time. The problem was the points dropped at the start of the season, with only 2 wins in the first 6 games, dropping 9 points in the process. If they start the new season the way they finished the last, (26 points from 30) they’ll be in good shape to mount a title challenge.

    • Mate, never said Arsenal struggled for goals
the point is, did they miss a world class striker upfront last season? Yes
did Giroud miss many chances that perhaps RvP would have buried, perhaps Yes
Yes fans may want to stick to Oli because it was his first season and not many shine that easily coming from abroad. However, this does not suggest that Arsenal are fine upfront and they do not miss a top striker or should not sign one.
Adding to that, Arsenal may as well qualify for CL with the same lineup without Higuain but Wenger talks about winning the premier league, for that to happen surely a team needs someone who could atleast score 20 odd league goals a season. and Higuain is a better solution than hoping that Giroud will do that next season.
Besides, do you not want Higuain ??

You have got to be kidding. We weren’t anywhere near the league (we couldn’t get past Bradford or Blackburn in the cup!) We haven’t been for years, much as it pains me to admit it. The league was poor last season, and we were lucky Spurs didn’t buy a striker. I think the point is we created more chances than the other teams – and we don’t have a goalscorer. We wont be anywhere near again without one, and a stronger midfielder.

    If we gat
    Ceasar
    Sagna-williams/merts-kolscieny-monreal
    Arteta fellani carzola
    Walcot higuain podolski
    Sub…..sczesny,gibbs,vermalean,williams,jekinson,
    Wilshere,ramsey,rosicky,wanyaman,gervinho,coqueli,ox,
    Giround,sanogo,
Tell me why we won’t win a trophy

    • quince says:

Way too easy. Because Sagna is past his best, Williams is completely average (bandwagon jumped on), Mertasacker is slower than the Titanic, Walcott is a one-trick pony; and you have our best player on the bench. Let me know if you want any more reasons.

  8. Nema Martin says:

a player like higuan is needed. If not try benteke, jelavic or jovetic. Truely dont forget rightback. Sagna’s football is diminishing. Bring richards or wiliams.

  9. Sunnyblack says:

    In my candid opinion,
I think it should be at optimal consideration that we buy
    Higuain, Fellaini, A good CB & possibly add Rooney;
We should also sell Gervinho, Bendtner, & co.
Arsene Wenger shound also endeavour to play with our best players always too.
This will certainly make us title winners & not title contenders.

  10. Sahr Muhammad Jimmy says:

Arsenal wenger need to sign Higuain and fellaini included Rooney, so that Arsenal we winne trophy next season. what are disgrace big club like Arsenal having no trophy for 8 season now. I think the board need to do some thing so that they can not make it 9 season.

  11. Demesachew Chane says:

pls wenger we need both of them in Emirates.

  12. albert joe demby says:

arsenal should sign all there signing and buy at least one striker to chage the formation 4 5 1 to 4 4 2

  13. merkin says:

I certainly would keep Gervinho. If we buy Higuain, our first team that we field will play Carzola on the left, Higuain in the center and Walcott on the right across the front. The midfield will be Wilshire, Arteta and either Ramsey or hope against hope Fellaini.
Gervinho will be a useful sub at 60 or 70 minutes to terrorize a fullback who has spent the day running side to side trying to keep close to Carzola. I know that Gervinho has had a hard time in front of the goal in his two years here. But he is fast with the ball, He is direct. And he knows how to use the space that the defense gives him. He gives us the one thing that we didn’t have last season, width. He presents an entirely new set of problems for the defense.
If I was Wenger at first I would sub him into games where we are comfortably ahead, which hopefully there will be many of next season. Take the pressure off of him. Higuain delivers wonderful, drilled crosses that won’t give Gervinho time to think about it. Let his confidence come back. Somewhere in that confused psyche of his there is buried a wonderful player.

  14. jocy says:

i hope both of the players will sign for arsenal ,

  15. Sheguy says:

Mr wenger can never sign both higuain and fellaini at same tym even thou hes got d money.im not being pessimist its just what i know about him.

  16. MOHAMED JUANA says:

I have respect for clubs with determination and dream of winning trophy like Man United .but my favourite club went through eight season with out a trophy and hold Arsene wenger respossible for those unfortunate time bcos he spend more than a month to sign a single player .honestly have no regard or even proud of such a people .

  17. haile says:
