Liverpool to Suffer Transfer Setback

Liverpool to Suffer Transfer SetbackThe Reds might have sealed the deal for ex-Arsenal and Manchester City star Kolo Toure, still they need to add more top players so as to compete with the best next season. However, Liverpool may suffer a transfer setback that will leave Rodgers fewer transfer funds to play with.
Reports suggest that Andy Carroll is not interested in signing permanently for West Ham United but wants to prove himself at Liverpool. The record breaking signing had a torrid time at Anfield and wants to somehow put things right next season.
The problem is that Liverpool and Rodgers do not need him at all. If the manager wanted to try him out while implementing his methods, he could have, instead the Big Geordie was loaned out.
Now that Rodgers has implemented his methods effectively, he needs to reinforce the squad more with exactly the kind of players that can augment the system and not influence it adversely. Therefore, no matter how high Carroll hopes, the chances of him starting regularly at Liverpool are very low.
Adding to that, Liverpool have been brilliant in attack since the turn of the year and have scored for fun under Rodgers. Coutinho, Sterling, Suarez and even Dalglish’s flops of Henderson and Downing have been effective under him. Surely, he does not seek to create a new system around Carroll as the one he has is working perfectly for now and the next season will be pivotal for the club and his career.
Then again, Liverpool have limited transfer budget available and they may as well badly need the 15 million from Andy’s sale to improve the squad. Also, while being a bench warmer, Carroll will be earning his 90k a week only to contribute to the expenses of the club.
The mentioned wages are too high and not many clubs in the premier league can pay him that amount. This inevitably means that if the former Newcastle man is adamant to stay at Anfield then Liverpool may as well fail to land few of their crucial transfer targets.
Whether Carroll really wants to prove his worth as a 35 million striker, or focuses on the fact that Liverpool is the only place where he can earn that high in the league, only he would know better. Taking into consideration all the mentioned aspects, if Carroll stays, Liverpool are likely to suffer transfer setback.

I will go mad if he comes back.
There is no place for him here
the fans who back him still are just getting carried away emotionaly
    he is useless for lfc

  2. Jason says:

He wants to fight for what ? can he ever start over sturridge suarez? NO
he wants to fight with Borini on the bench?
He only cares about that 90 a week if the reports do turn out to be true

  3. Bill says:

Send him out on loan to Tranmere Rovers. We don’t want him. He’ll change his mind by January. If he thinks he’s going back to Newcastle he has another thing coming.

  4. Danno says:

We need to make an example of him ASAP,stick him in the reserves for all of next season. He’ll soon change his tune, and never let him go back too Newcastle.

  5. Wilberforce Emmanuel says:

if Andy try this nonsense, let him come back an see we are going to loan him Leeds utd

  6. Andrew low says:

The big fella only took what was on offer! He is a Liverpool player like it or not,if he chooses to come back to his club and fight for his place then so be it. A contract works both ways, we should be honourable enough to see it through. We would expect it from him if he were on fire for us

  7. Yinka says:

I wil curse him,who needs d giant? He only cares about d wage,we need d money so bad, asyd wat is he proving? If d report is tru den he must b wicked soul cos he plans to hinder LFC progres infact a major enemy, I wil join to chant him “thief” even on bench.

      R U really a gormless muppet!!!
Its doesn’t matter weather he is on 9000 or 90000 a week there’s two people to blame for that, “King Kenny” and Damien Comolli and neither them are at the club to answer why he is on a contract like that.
We all know he was a panic buy and have just got to accept that he’s going to claim every penny from his contract weather he is playing or not, i would just question what desire does he have regarding his international future sat on the bench or in the stands at Afield.

  8. Joe Leezy says:

    Cheers Kenny!

  9. Ray-the-Hammer says:

I’d love to keep him at West Ham, as would 99% of the rest of West Ham fans but I think it’s pretty obvious that he’s trying to engineer a move to Newcastle. Liverpool simply can’t afford not to sell him for all the reasons detailed above. Ashley won’t pay the 15m agreed by West Ham so Carroll is holding Liverpool to ransom by calling their bluff.

  10. he should be giving a little chance he can stil make it

  11. richh81 says:

You ‘so-called’ fans make me sick, the one player desperate to prove himself here gets absolutely hammered by you lot whereas some of our ‘lesser’ players happy to come along for the ride are just fine! This is the sad state of football in the modern era where clueless fans will slag of the one genuine guy who wants to make sure he’s not a flop at our historic club – we should be glad to have a player like this on the books, one who will give it his all before his time is up and make the most of his one opportunity at liverpool football club.
For ff sake take a look at yourselves would you, you’re an absolute disgrace to our club – next time you utter the words ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ have a good think about what it means (we’re supposed to get behind the team – THATS EVERYONE WHO MAKES UP THE SQUAD PEOPLE)

  12. Gmac says:

The guy who picks the team doesn’t want him and he knows it!! Betcha he’s done a deal with Newcastle to force the Transfer fee down! Liverpool are being set up guys, and if I’m right that makes Andy Carroll no friend of Liverpool! If he went to W Ham we drop £20m, If he goes to Newcastle we drop £28m cos reports from Toon say they want to pay £7m to offset his high wages. Me, I’d let him know he ain’t going to Newcastle under any circumstances and leave the ball in his court, he won’t want to miss Brazil.

  13. juan says:

Andy Carrol is a very good player with a talent to play for huge clubs, and thats good if he want to prove to us that he is not a flop, but one thing for all of you who back carrol to return to lfc, THE SYSTEM UNDER RODGERS DOESNT FIT HIM, SO HE HAS TO LEAVE.. If he wont leave he just want to setback us in this tranfer window… ANDY MY BOY YOU HAVE TO LEAVE.

  14. Lets accept his come back with good mind, at least we hav the league, carling and fa cup to play nxt season, if he cant feature for league matches then we can use him for fa and carling cup matches.

  15. stef says:

Carroll is a pure mercenary but i have a solution he wants to prove himself great loan or sell him to a club in the Ukraine or Russia that will get him signing at West Ham and keep Newcastle from robbing us again.

  16. David says:

Andy if the big talking philosopher had an offer for you from David Moyes he would choke on his rice crispies! If you really want to play for Liverpool stay and do so but don’t use the club to drive down the price for Newcastle or you will lose all credibility with those of us who think Rodgers has not given you a fair chance.
Personally, I hope you stay and succeed because I come from an era when layalty and fairness were king. We sang the Liverpool Anthem (YNWA) with gusto because we meant it!
How I would have liked to see you play in so many drawn games last season where The Reds simply had no plan B. Shame on you Brendan Rodgers and all your toadying acolytes.

  17. stylo enoch says:

Andy u ar a disgrace to lfc trying to lure ur way into newcastle never hope u did not go drinking as usual before mking this decision cos u never fit into brender’s plans or even plan z

  18. Victor says:

Chia let’s gv hm one more chance 2 proive hmsf as he said,i beliv he can make it up dis time his our player we can js liv he lik dat nd knw club can pay his wage i tink he can do it dis time

  19. mourinho says:

how can some people say dat he should be given another chance to prove himself? hw can he do that if he only scored 7 goals this season? Andy baibes, i just have to diss and kick you out of my house.. u realy hv to go

  20. Kay says:

Judging by the way andy Carroll is going about this situation, I think it’s safe to say he has said goodbye to his England career. Newcastle will not pay anything over £8mill and we simply need more than that for trasnfer funds. He will sit on the bench, collect his wages and help the progress of the reserve team. The game needs less players like these. Thanks daglish and comolli, what a howler this is turning out to be.

  21. VICTOR says:

His too lazy me & my liverpoolfc don’t need him anymore so we can his wage to finance hardworking players, safe journey Andy Carrol, bye bye.
