As we move towards another transfer season, Liverpool have been linked with numerous attacking players. Manager Brendan Rodgers is looking to bolster the squad with more quality to challenge for the top 4 spot the reds have failed to achieve for the past 4 years.
Lately, the merseysiders have been linked with the likes of attacking midfielders like Barcelona’s Cristian Tello and Blackpool’s Tom Ince. However, Liverpool already have quality offensive options at their disposal and if they are to add another then that should be top class.
Rodgers must ignite or reignite interest in Armenian star who is arguably one of the best playmakers around. The player in discussion is Shakhtar’s Henrikh Mkhitaryan. The 24 year old sensation has been in impressive form and has drawn interest from top European clubs.
Back in March, Liverpool were reportedly keen on signing the versatile playmaker who has scored no less than 28 goals from midfield this season. The Shakhtar star claimed that he is ready to leave the club this summer and may as well be interested in a move to premier league.
Although, Mkhitaryan will cost around 20 odd million but the Armenian international will be worth every penny. Being versatile, he has the ability to play both out wide and central role for the club.
Adding to that, the traits such as the blistering pace, trickery and dribbling and having an eye for goal being a calm finisher is a rare combination to find these days.
Liverpool will have more of their focus on defensive section as their attack has done really well this season. However, they need to add further quality to close the gap as other top teams will be doing exactly the same this summer.
Not being in the champions league might be a big disadvantage for the reds in their pursuit of Mkhitaryan but they must move swiftly in the transfer market and make contact to lure the playmaker to Anfield. The odds are against them but well never say never.

Very brilliant but am afraid such dime like £20m will never leak out nf the yanks bags. These americans have made it hard to land big names b’se of how tight they are with money, think all americans are like that. BR is trying to identify some really good talents that suits our name but each time he lands on those expensive ones, he hits sfg’s hard wall and falls dowm for cheaper options. Rogers is top quality but the yanks are ridiculous.
