Why Arsenal Will Not Sign Radamel Falcao

Why Arsenal Will Not Sign Radamel FalcaoRecently Arsenal have been linked with perhaps the best striker in the world right now, Radamel Falcao. Reports suggest that the Gunners will have the funds available in summer to lure the prolific Atletico striker to Emirates. However, that is easier said than done in case of Arsenal. Here is why the Gunners will not sign Radamel Falcao.

Arsenal Champions League Qualification

With 13 games left in La Liga, Atletico have one foot in next year’s champions league as they are currently second and 14 points ahead of fourth place Malaga. Talking about Arsenal’s qualification through winning Champions league, perhaps we should not even think about it. Having lost the first leg against Bayern 3-1 at Emirates, surely it is a near impossible task for the Gunners to turn that around at Allianz Arena and qualify for the quarter finals.
Considering their position in the premier league, gunners probably have more than a decent chance as currently they occupy 5th place, only a couple of points behind third place Chelsea. For Arsenal to sign a player like Falcao, Champions League football is all but necessary so first they have to ensure that.

Arsenal Transfer Funds

This is not the first time we are hearing that Arsenal will have heavy funds to invest in the transfer market. In fact, before the January transfer window, reports did suggest that Arsene Wenger has got funds at disposal to improve the quality of the squad. However, it was another frustrating transfer window for Arsenal supporters yet again as they had to wait for the whole month only to sign one player, Nacho Monreal, that too on the deadline day. So, one can expect another rumor about the transfer kitty for summer as well.
Although Arsenal did spend on quality players last summer but as usual at the expense of losing quality players i.e. Robin van Perise and Alex Song. Not to forget, Arsenal only partly utilized the 55 million earned via the sales of Nasri and Fabregas in 2011. Surely fans would not want to lose another star to fund other deals.
Then again, Falcao will easily cost 50 million at least and we have never seen Arsenal come even near that mark for a single player. Can we expect that to change? Probably not.

Arsenal Pay Structure

More than a few teams can pay Falcao around 200k a week and don’t think it will be a crime to say that Falcao is better than Robin van Persie. Now I am not saying that the Colombian is a mercenary, it is just that he surely deserves a top draw salary for the quality he possess and the performance he delivers.
Arsenal on the other hand are not famous for paying over the odds, may it be signing fee or player wages. Once again, can we expect the gunners to change that policy? Perhaps not.

Conclusion - Arsenal Falcao

It is rumored that Arsenal will have 70 million plus whatever they can get from player sales for the summer transfer window. Still, it is highly unlikely that Arsenal will sign Radamel Falcao, Or it should be said that with the current management, Arsenal cannot really sign Falcao keeping in view their transfer record and pay structure even if they do qualify for the Champions League.

We should not expect big strikers, big signings.expect 2 defenders(quality and future(to pair with miquel) a quality defensive midfield,a stricker giroud backup(unlikely if afobe performs wonders at preseason) a coquelin sell(he wants it and its not likely to get chance),a frimpong contract renewal(he is like wilshere not in play style but in battling and struggle, also arsenal DNA) ,may be a clearout of deadwood, and a eisfeld and gnarby(not necesary them youth in general) loan out
